1.5 years out, new baby, new marriage and gaining :-(
I haven't paid any attention to my weight for 9 months, because I was prego and then I lost all the weight but 4-5 pounds but now have put on an additional 10 pounds. I am really struggling and have no energy. I feel like I am back at my old weight of 220, even though I'm 135. I feel fat and am gaining. I feel out of control, can't exercise with coliky baby, hubby will help-but I have to ask, feel hungry all the time. Sorry to rant, but I needed to. Any suggestions or anyone been in this situation, help. Thanks, Bridget

I have also gained and haven't even been pregnant. You have 10lbs to lose mine is more so like 30lbs... at times I really feel like a failure because I have put so much weight on and never even made it to goal..but thank god I caught it before it was 50 or even the entire 100 back. I'm currently on the 5 DPT not for sure if you are familiar with it if not here it is : www.5daypouchtest.com basically back to the basics and helping me get back on track and getting away from that carb monster, I also do kickboxing 3 days out the week. I'm on day 4 and can't eat as much as I did last week. Good luck and congrats on the new baby

I have delivered and nursed four babies. Starving during the nursing period is COMMON... I was always hungry and ate everything in sight. I always lost after I stopped nursing.
My question is: Are you nursing? If so, this could be why you are hungry. Your body is finding all the nutrients your baby needs in the milk.
Relax... you haven't fallen over the edge. You'll be fine

I have a huge problem with being hungry all the time!! I would literaly eat every hour or so during the day and every otehr hour or so during the night.. eating like 12 "meals" a day.. and surprise! I was gaining! I gained 30 lbs from my lowest.. I've been coming on to OH the last couple months, and trying to track my food. I haven't done amazingly well, but I have stopped gaining! I was gaiing 5 lbs a month for aw hile, and have not gained any for two months. I'm using a few different products to help me with hunger in between meals. I'm using full bars which help me feel full for a long time for only 80 calories (I eat half a bar between meals with a glass of water...the water makes it swell I think..it works better that way, I don't drink with my regular meals tho, I still keep the rules) And I'm also using South beach "tid me over" drinks they are similar to special K protein drinks.. it has a blend of fiber and protein. I have to WANT to stop eating all the time, then these products help me with that goal, they are just at ool just like our little stomach, which can be abused and not used. The last couple days as I've been consistent with these three "tools" my stomach, using full bars and south beach products.. I've managed to keep my calories around 1200,..where the last two months I couldn't even keep it below 1900 on most days! which is my BMR so of course I maintained and didn't lose.
Anyway, I don't have any GREAT advice.. I'm just cutting back and using a coupe products to help me with this goal. You'll find a lot of people have been in this situation, with and without pregnancy..and yes...good for you for catching this and reaching out with just a 10 lb weight gain! a lot of us gained a lot more than that before we reached our "freak out point" Could luc****ep us posted!

No problem, www.fullbar.com It was developed by a successful Gastric Bypass Surgeon to help give the effect of surgery to those who either didn't qualify or who don't want surgery. People do great with them..IF they use them. As surgery patients we dont' really need to use them as he prescribes since we can't eat that much in one setting anyway...but for me it helps to use between meals. It's not what I eat in ONE or TWO meals that gets me in trouble, it's filling my pouch all day long that becomes the problem, this helps me go as long as I need between meals. .. anyway, my mom likes them too.. she lost two lbs the two days she used them, I just gave her a sample.

First are you nursing? Have you checked your lab values? Is your iron low, protein, ferritin, b-12 or thyroid out of wack? Check there first .
Then track what you are eating. Are you getting good whey protein supplementation to keep you full? Are you eating sweets or lots of carbs (white carbs)?
I like daily plate over fitday to track foods. See what you are eating, then we can work on why the gain.
Are you exercising?
You are not fat....but the old tapes are playing. You feel fat because you just don't feel good. But you've done great getting baby weight off...so focus on your progress and successes. You may not be sleeping well either with your colicky baby, so cut yourself slack.....you really are ok. We can help encourage you on the right track and cheer y ou on!
