6 years out but have gained..need help.
I need some good advice. I am going to be 6 years out from my surgery on Sept. 12.
I am 5'6" and was orignially 265; I lost down to 145.
I am now back up to 200 lbs. I am scared that I will completely fall off the wagon and become obese again.
I have steadily gained 15 lbs. a year. I really need help to lose the weight.
I would go back and see my doctor but I live on the other side of the country of where he is.
I would appreciate feed back. Thanks.

Before you get a nutritionist (which is definitely something you should do) you can start journaling what you eat on something like dailyplate or fitday..It really helps to SEE where you are and SEE where you need to be. We do a daily accountability post here on WLS Grads and it's helped alot of people lose or maintain or even gain some...
Then you need to figure some sort of movement plan. Something that gets you using calories. Maybe not aerobics or dance or running a marathon but once you see what sort of calories you're intaking you can see how many you need to "spend".
Just suggestions and a place to start. Definitely find a nutritionist and see your PCP too. Always a good thing!
Today is the first day of the rest of your life so you CAN adjust your course and you CAN go where you want to go...It's a matter of mapping the road you want to take.
Before Surgery: 214
Highest Weight: 240
Now: 125.6
Goal: 130
I am not over eating but I am not always eating healthy either. My portions are normal and I don't have a habit of grazing. I walk about 20 minutes 3 times a day (I have two young labs...they are very active) everyday.
I am going to keep a food journal and see if that helps.
However, I know one of my main problems is that since surgery, I have developed hypoglacemia. Sugar (which causes dumping) is the only way to bring my sugar levels to normal...but it also causes me to gain weight. I don't know if anyone else has had this problem? There are times that my blood sugar (after eating a meal or drinking orange juice it is only 50...which is dangerously low).
I don't know if this information helps.
Thanks.
Also, try to eat several small meals daily rather than just three times a day.
That way your blood sugar will even out and stay relatively level.
I've found that by doing these steps I'm able to stay pretty normal, but if I ignore my mealtimes I really get "the trembles" and feel like P**P.
Good luck,
Coming here is a great first step! It really helps here. I was steadily gaining 5 lbs a month till I got here, and for the last two months since I"ve been using ObesityHelp I have at least maintained. up a couple lbs down a couple..etc..but holding steady...so it gives me hope that I can now start losing as I continue tweaking and adjusting and finding what needs to happen for the weight to start going down.
Remember you still have and always WILL have the greatest tool ever! So weight loss is stsill much more possible than it was pre surgery.
Good luc****ep us posted!

I understand completely I am 10+ yrs out and have gained about 45 pounds I just joined here yesterday and was advised to try the 5 day pouch test. I might try it I dont necessarily overeat I just eat way too many carbs. I have also started looking into a revision maybe a stomyx or something. It scares me that I may become that 400 lb woman again and that
can't happen. be strong and take control thats my plan. ''
