I take one single serve pack a day.  I try to take it in the morning an hour after my other vitamins as it can affect the absorbtion of some of them.  I think it's iron that it really affects and being anemic I need ot absorb all of my iron.

you only take one????? oh my, you need to talk to vitalady.   You should be supplementing upto 3000 mg per day of calcium.  We NEVER absorb like the "norm".  The normal is 1000 a day, i take 5 packets a day.  How are you labs? is your calcium level ok?

ALSO if you take iron, you should be taking the iron with a vitamin C and the iron must be taken 1 hour or more before or after you eat or dring anything.  It needs to be seperate from calcium, protein, dairy, fiber, etc.  I take my iron at night so i dont have anthing else in my system.

Go to www.vitalady.com   she can help you with how much calcium to take

Yep!  Love the stuff!

I take 2500 mg (i.e. 5 packets) of this daily, and 1500 mg of Nature's Science Calcium Citrate daily.

BASELINE for WLS post-ops is 2000 mg calcium citrate daily.

Here's the way I take the UpCal-D - I too use the single serving packets...

1.  Open packet.

2.  Open mouth.

3.  Dump contents of packet into mouth.

4.  Let contents melt on the tongue a bit.

5.  Swallow.

6.  Chase with a bit of iced green tea.

The stuff tastes something akin to pixie stix dust - amazing!

This way I know I get ALL of the calcium in me - not stuck to the bottom of a glass.  :)

Blessings,

dina
