Hi everyone,

I am back from a very long absence... I am approaching my 2nd anniversary of surgery on August 22nd.  I have gained 25 pounds back from my lowest weight.  I am miserable and need some support... Tell me, out there, has anyone been in the same predicament ?  I am back and wanting to do the best I can, but feel like I need MAJOR motivation and ENCOURAGEMENT....
Any advice ?  And is it possible to lose anymore weight this far out ???

Thanks

Sorry that you have had some weight gain, but you have come to the right place. It is deffinately possible to lose weight again. You need to go back to the basics and maybe start to journal your food intake. That will make you aware of where you need to improve in your eating habits. There are several online free sites where you can track food and exercise. I use sparkpeople.com, another site is fitday.com and the dailyplate.

Remember protien first, no drinking 30 min before or after eating, stick with complex carbohydrates like fruits and vegetables and whole grains and  a small amount of fat. Get back to exercising if you are not already doing so.

Check out the accountability thread on this messageboard and join in to get some support.

You can get that weight off.

Best of luck

Believe me,  YOUR ARE NOT ALONE! I'm 2 1/2 years out and started to gain weight the past few months. It's my fault and I know that. Old habits started to creep up on me!  I was starting to allow myself to indulge in things too much that I normally had only often.
Anyway, my Dr. recommened weigh****chers to just help me get back on track so I did and it's helped.  If not weigh****chers, just go back to basic's,  journal your food and just be aware of what you are eating like we did in the beginning.

Good luck!

Special Kay,

I used Weight ***chers also but found that it was a lot of  food to eat and since it is based on a normal sized stomach i found that i was constantly eating and not losing anything. Let me know how you are doing with that.

Even if you don't follow their programs "exactly" the support at meetings are very helpful.

Best,
Leila

I had my first weigh in on wed. and was down 11.6 lbs. I have 25 points a day for food and it is a lot of points but I eat all the right foods.

Welcome back!   OH is the best place to come for motivation and encouragement   I came back after a long absence and a 42# weight gain.  Coming back to OH for support along with participating in a  Biggest Loser contest at my work is what helped me get back on track.  I am on the losing side again having lost 30 of the 42# gained.  It took 18 long months to lose the weight and I almost gave up several times.  Please get back to basics, come to OH every day if possible and be patient and you will lose the weight again.  It is not too late.  I was 5 years out when I started losing weight again.  It is not easy but it is possible and you can do it!  Good luck and many blessings!!

Char,

I am about 5 yrs out also and Iam finding it so hard to lose the weight. I havent gained much since I platuae at 273lbs since then though i have managed to get down to 247 but went back up to 275 and know at 269.  I would like to continue to lose and i findit so diffcult and like you was just tempted to give up. I am exercsing everyday and watching what I am eating but after reading your thread I realize that its not a quick process

Chynadoll,
Whatever you do please, please don' t give up.  As long as you keep up the exercise and watching what you eat you will lose the weight.  I try to visit OH everyday. Even if you come 3-4 times a week you'ii probably get the support, motivation and  encouragement you need to help you start losing again. Good luck and many blessings!!
