Yes, it felt like heartburn, but I also felt it in my back.  Kind of like it went all the way through.  When I went back for my 1-year checkup and told my surgeon, he insisted on doing a scope and sure enough, it was an ulcer.  He prescribed 3 mos. of prevacid, but as soon as I went off it the pain came back, so another 3 months.  Then I went off prevacid for 2-3 months but eventually the pain came back.  I finished the 3rd round about a month ago.  So far no pain.  Maybe the ulcer finally healed.

My ulcer was different then most. Mine was located the in intestines where they joined the new pouch. I had no burning, no heartburn, etc. But I was in horrible pain all the time! I went though a year and a half of constant tests, and everyone telling me the pain was all in my head. I had numerous scopes done, but none of them even looked into the intestines, so it was never found. It got so bad I was on major narcotics, Vicodin, and then right before my revision Morphine orally.
This ulcer about killed me literally. It was never found until it perforated and started leaking all my gastric contenets into my abdomen.
If you think something is wrong, seek help until you get an answer that you are happy with.
