when does it stop?
Congratulations on your loss!!!!
I had to add calories and cut back on the exercise to maintain my weight. At my 1yr check the surgeon wanted me to gain 10 - 15 pounds. I lost another 7 and have been maintaining at 118 - 123 for about 5 weeks. I eat 1100 calories a day with a protein intake of at least 65g. I do worry about carbs & fat but am not overly cautious with them as protein is my main concern.
I have cut out my lunch break 20 minute walk which I had been doing every day after eating. I still exercise by riding my horse, cleaning horse stalls & doing ab stuff at night.
Good luck!!!!

If you feel that you are becoming "too skinny" then up your calories a little. If you are jus****ching the numbers then don't. Doctors usually set your goal a little above what you might possibly lose. Watch your body not the numbers on a scale. Your body should start balancing out where your intake and bodily needs meet. Congrats on the loss!!
Hi, the same thing happened with me. I had to up my calorie intake by adding another small meal. My surgeon's recommendations are 3 meals a day no snacking. I find I can't eat to much more at a meal, so I added an extra meal in the evening (more like a light snack). I don't want to give up exercise, but I did cut back some on running on the treadmill, I mainly workout with weights now.
As far as our bodies go. I think it has memory of what we used to be. I used to be 105 in high school, I now maintain between 117 and 122. I think my body could get to 110 easily, but I feel very good at 120, so I try to maintain that level. In other words, you could switch to a maintenance diet if you feel comfortable where you are at now. Some people like to go lower to give themselves a cushion. With me, I didn't want to go so low, that it was harder to maintain, so I went for what I felt was a realistic goal of food volume and exercise level and where I felt good at...
So what to do? What's great is you have the ability to make that choice for yourself. You are in control of your own destiny. Just listen to your body's cues carefully and it will work out for you!!
Good job for getting where you are and good luck in finding your balance..

Your weight loss never has to stop, my friend is over 6 years out and still losing... she has started having PS in the past two years and has dropped 30lbs between the surgery and exercise.
If you are needing to make your weight stop then its time to move to a maintenance diet... in some cases peoples bodies will natrually slow/stop but if you are still losing a good amount and getting too low for your own liking then I would move on... maintenance can take time to figure out so even when you switch you may continue to lose some until you balance out.
Personally when I hit where I wanted to be (145) I moved to maintenance eating, I didnt want to drop to a weight I didnt feel I could maintain and wanted to stict where I was comfortable and felt that I could easily keep at that weight. So far so good, been holding steady 5 months!

I didn't really stop until 18mths out, but things definitely slowed WAY down at the 1yr mark. I do think our bodies have a way of knowing when enough is enough. I've also found that alot of people lose 10-15lbs lower than where they finally end up being. My lowest was 150lbs (I'm 5'9"), but it is VERY hard for me to maintain 150lbs~my body is more comfortable around 155-158lbs. I know alot of people say up your calories or add in some carbs to stop the weightloss, but unless you're getting malnourished or at a dangerously low weight, I personally would hesitate to do that b/c there is a good chance of having some rebound weight gain. Congratulations to you on your success!!!!!!!
