15 months out: When did that happen?

I've avoided OH for far too long! I was horrified this weekend when I stepped on the scale for the first time in 2 months. I had let myself go a bit figuring re-gain was impossible for someone only a year out. Wrong. Time has flown, I can't believe I'm at the point where the tool I'm so fortunate to have has been taken for granted.

This is hard!

Hey there! Maintainance is HARD!!! I completely agree!! I feel if I was good at it in the first place I never would have ended up at 328lbs!!! But, now we've been giving a tool that WILL work if we WORK it!!! You did the right thing by hopping on the scale and coming back here~you'll be fine, just need to get back to basics and stay aware. I like to track my food at thedailyplate.com.It  has really helped me to stay on top of things. Good Luck!!!!

Hi Chantal,

You are not alone at all.  Weight regain is all too common for many reasons.  You're here and reached out.  For me, I love the WLS Grads Board for this reason.  I come on when I need a shot of motivation and inspiration.

It sounds as though you've caught it early so that is great.  Our tool is with us but we have to choose to use it.  Sometimes, I have to make that choice multiple times a day!!

Yeah...it's harder than people thin****il you get here...and it's quite shocking how easy it is to gain if your are not being as strict as you were in the beginning.  SOOO easy to fall off track...Been there... done that.... gained ten pounds and took 4 months to lose it! LOL And another several months not to find it again!  I think this is forever and it's going to be a pain in the arse.  Stay on top of it sweetie...You can do it especially with support...I've been managing fluxes in my weight for 4 1/2 years...and it's ANYTHING but easy...I am thankful though that the tool does work if you let it....Somedays are easy and some just go out the window....

Welcome to the maintenance crew!  ...You are not lost yet...and look you found all of us!

Get back on track ...you!  Can I come too??? LOL  Bad weekend myself!

Hi. I agree that this is hard. You came to the right place and just in time!  I started re-gaining about 2 1/2  years out and by the time I was 5 years out I finally became honest with myself and admitted that I gained 42#!!   Not the 10. 20 or 25# that I would admit to at first.  That was just my "bounce back weight" I'd tell myself.  During the next 2 years, I joined Curves, Weigh****chers, started walking, using the treadmills, tracking my food and...etc.  They are all good programs; however, I was not consistent with any of them. Also, I was not coming back to OH for inspiration and support.  I was not following the instructions that came with my "tool".  January 2007 is when I picked up the "owners manual" for my tool to learn to use it again.  My blogs tell all about how I lost 30 of the 42# I re-gained..  It took over 18 months to get back down to 151# where I am now. My ultimate goal weight is 145# and I will make it.  Enough about me!!   I'm glad you have come to terms with your weight gain and is ready to get back on track. You know all the rules and you know that they won't be easy to follow.   In the morning, just jump right back on the scale, record your weight and consder it Day One of your journey to lose again.  Start writing down everything you eat and be honest.  If you don't like writing, use one of the free online tools such as thedailyplate.com, fitday.com, or Sparkpeople. Consistency and patience are the keys to success,!!  Sorry this is so long but my heart goes out to anyone who's had a weight gain.  I know first hand of the embarrassment, disappointment and feelings of failure,  l how how hard it is to get on track and stay there.  Welcome back to OH and visit us everyday if you can.  I know that you can do this!!  Good luck and many blessings,
Char S.
