It's TOFU!  That's what is so cool about these "noodles"...I can't do pasta very easily, but I love it!  So I gotta try this stuff...I think MeltingMel talked about something similar or it might be the same thing...I saw them once and didn't buy them and never saw them again...So now I know where to get some again!

I wish I knew how my iron is!  I've been feeling kinda weird lately...I scheduled my 6 months labs...(Aug 8th)  I am going crazy wondering how things are...I hate having to wait so long, but these vits move sooooo slowly  to rise anyway...Frustrating!!!!...Did you ever try the carbonyl Iron  (Tender Iron)?  It's very literally "tender" on your insides....The Vit C...now that might be a different story...

I don't know a derned thing about ulcers...They scare me! Everytime my pouch hurts I think I have an ulcer!  I am so paranoid that I am going to get one! I have no idea why...

Anita, I have tried them and they take on the flavor of what ever you put with  it. They have no flavor on their own. Easy to use too. I got them from someone who didn't like them but I sure did. This winter I added them to chicken broth and added some mixed vegetable and cooked chicken and had a delicious soup and they were filling. I also made a low fat alfredo sause to put on some. I haven't tried them with tomato sauce because I have not found them in any stores. Thanks for the link. There are sites on line with lots of recipes to use the Shiritaki noodles. I guess I will need to  break down and by them online. If you google Shiritaki noodles there will be other companies that sell them to compare prices.

They really sound interesting...Ever since I heard of them I wanted to try them...but I thought they were kind of expensive...These don't look too bad a price...I just need new ideas for sides for dinner...My hubby still loves pasta and rice...I only make it occasionally for him and guess who ends up giving herself a belly ache almost every time?  Plus it would be nice to have something for those days I just need to eat low cal...I'll look them up and see who else has them...I'm pretty sure these were the one Mel raved about too...I forgot all about them...I saw the video on "Hungry Girl" ....Cool new website I found today....She's got a ton of mostly carb friendly, low fat recipes...I think I'm gonna sign up for her newsletters...

I found the texture a little different from pasta, more firm. The noodles have no taste on their own, so you have to put them with something and then they take on that flavor.

I've thought of trying them...I can do pasya but would love a healthier version for my family and the whole wheat is not a fave with my family for some reason.....I've seen them at my commissary(sp?) in the past but haven't looked recently....D

That's where I saw them first...The commissary...But they stopped carying them and I totally forgot about them.  I'm with you on the ww pasta...I hate it!  Tastes like cardboard and I end up tossing most of it in the trash because even though I make some killer sauces, you can't disquise that awful taste!  LOL  I even started buying regular pasta and white rice (I found basmati rice to be the lowest in carbs) again for my family...We don't eat it all the time these days so once in a while is not gonna hurt....But these noodles look really cool!  I want gonna try spagetti squash too...
