I am starting this pouch test on Monday and I am scared to death.  It sounds like it has helped a lot of you and I am excited but nervous.  I will be on here a lot and will be needing your all's encouragement.  Those of you who are also starting it I wish you great success and I will be praying for you.  Have a great day and God bless, penni

Hi, Penni,

I just finished the 5dpt last week.  I was very sick for the month of june, went on steroids, then went on vacation after that.  My weight creeped up beyond what I will tolerate and just  "the basics" and logging in on fit day wasn't changing things.

I am glad I did it. I GAINED weight for the liquid day because I drank chicken broth freely...too much salt for me, I guess. But all that is gone, my weight is down and feel I am in so much better control. I beat back the carb monster again, my energy is better. I am able to happily eat less and staying on track will, I know, take me where I want to go.

Good luck on Monday,

I know you can do it.  It is empowering.

I'm going to start the 5DPT tomorrow, also.  It think it will be easier to do during my 5-day work week than to start on a weekend. I did it a few weeks ago and felt that I was successful even though I deviated a little on day five.  I know the main purpose of the test is not to lose weight but  to "reset" your pouch to "newbie status".   Last time I did the test, I got a double bonus.  Not only did I become more aware of my pouch and listening to it when it tells me that I've had enough to eat; I also lost 3 #!!  So far, I kept off the 3#,  I just made a batch of the pumpkin sausage and the split pea with ham soups and put them into 1 cup containers.  I got 4 packs of 6 containers for $1 per pack from the Dollar Tree store. I'm also going to use the Lo Carb Slimfast shakes because they have 20g protein and 2g net carbs and are more affordable to me than the protein powders.  I got a 24 pack of sugar free gelatin and a pack of K2O protein water powder that you mix with bottled water.  All this stuff cost me around $35. It can be a little expensive to start but I know I would spend more if I buy my breakfast and lunch from our cafeteria.  Each morning I'll pack my lunch box with 2 shakes 2 soups and 2 gelatin snacks and a pack of K2O. I will also sip water all  day, except for the 30 min after I have my meals, of course.   I'll probably have another bowl of soup for dinner and a sugar free pudding for my pre-bedtme snack. I wish much success  to you Penni and the rest of the Monday morning 5DPT'ers.  I'll keep you all posted.  God luck and many blessings!!

I started today...I think I might make it through the day..  I made the pea soup and also bought the slimfast low carb shakes.  I have had two bowls of soup, 1 protein shake, 1 slimfast and will have a jello and pudding later.  About 1000 calories.   I have began this many times but never finished even the first 2 days.  I am hoping that I have as much success as the others have.

Good luck and we can do this.

I'vr read alot of people say this works but what confuses me is the carbs. The soups & SF pudding has a lot of carbs in them. So how does it work.

I am starting tody too.  So far 2 protein shakes and a yogurt, plenty of water and will have chicken broth for lunch and a SF puddin.

I am doing the 3 day LPT (liquid Protein Train),  I am trying this since it does have a menu to follow after you do two days of liquids..   It has been mentioned several times on this board.
