i was just reading the revision message boards!!!!
It hit me hard last year when I had a bad health scare. I went to a gastroenterologist for a check-up after feeling a little tired. She thought there might be some pouch issues and did an endoscopy and upper GI ultrasound. There wasn't anything wrong, but my bloodwork came back a mess. I knew that my weight loss had stalled, but I thought my body had just settled. I didn't know I was suffering from severe malnutrition and even though I was eating, I was eating the wrong things and starving my body. It was a big wake up call for me. I'd slacked off big time, and I finally realized that I'd been feeling terrible for months. It wasn't until after several b-12 injections, two iron infusions, and weeks of overloading on supplements that I realized how bad I'd felt.
The point of this isn't to scare anyone. I can tell you now that I'm over four years out and the healthiest I've ever been. But you have to remember that you had the surgery and that if you follow the rules, the tool will always work. If you don't follow the rules, you'll end up in the hospital like I did. I'm finally losing weight again, my hair is thickening, and my nails actually grow.
Go back to all of that paperwork you got when you had your surgery. Start one day at a time and remaster those techniques. Protein, water and supplements. If you have to take one at a time, that's okay. You can get back on track. Remember why you had your surgery and even visit your surgeon/nutritionist. They're resources for post-op care, no matter how far down the line.
Hang in there and whatever you do, don't give up. So start running to catch that wagon.
And then slap the driver for running you over.

Hi,
Please come over to the PA forum. There are so many people there who are very supportive. The majority of the board has had their surgery at Barix and there are quite a few who had Brader.
You will wear your size 10's again. We all go though set backs and regains. Just try and get ahold of it right now before it is 100 lbs. I was starting to go out of control before I had my second panni. I had a set back after the surgery that made me sit back and pay attention again.
Please pm me if you just want to talk, scream, etc. Please do join over at the PA forum.
