I had originally lost 130 lbs, but had regained 50 lbs and decided I needed help and everyone here has been wonderfully supportive. Sometimes just knowing you're not alone in your struggle can get you through so much.
Someone suggested the 5 day pouch test to me on Tuesday morning and I googled it (had been so long since I'd been here, I'd never heard of it). Well, I'm on my 4th day today and have lost 8 lbs. More importantly, I feel that I am learning again to feel the way I felt after my surgery. It's not too late for any of us. We just have to be willing to take that first step.
I have been on this site reading posts, sending messages, looking for motivation in before and after pictures and logging on whenever I feel that I want some support. Ok, it's been a lot since Tuesday, but if I'm here, I'm getting support and not filling my face.
If you want to try to do this together, I'm here for you. The important thing is you want to try. You already know you can succeed. You have. Keep believing in yourself and fight the negative demons that are always waiting to attack.
Good luck and keep us posted.
1) go grocery shopping and have all the right foods on hand. You know what they are low carb, high protein etc.
2) get rid of the bad stuff in the house.
3) schedule and plan your meals.
4) get the carbs out of your diet because they zap your energy and never fill you up.
5) Take a walk. Put your daughter in a stroller and go. The weather is probably nice enough right now.
Five simple steps to start. Every day try to be a little bit better. Most important don't beat your self up for a set back!
Even the most skinniest or most successful patients don't have 100% control all the time - They just try to do a personal best.
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!
Heidi

I too have gained too much weight back and need to get back on track. I am 3 1/2 years post op and at my lowest was at 185 lbs. I maintained 196 lbs for almost 1 1/2 years and was very comfortable in my 14/16's. I guess I was too comfortable and life took over and now I am back up at 236 lbs and hating my size 18/20's. My best friend and I are walking and have a little contest going to try to lose 15 lbs by November. She is not a RNY patient so it will be harder for her than me to lose this weight but if i don't get back in the correct mind set I won't lose it either. I am thinking about doing the 5 day pouch test to kick start my pouch and my mind again. I need to do this as the more time I spend at this weight the more depressed I get and when I get depressed I eat! I decided today to come back to this site and read the posts and get some encouragement.
I am here to support and gain support and will keep checking back and posting how I make out.
Good luck,
Kim
