James H?? Wagon Plan??
Hi Michele,
James is a good guy. He's right about so much. BMR, exercise, and you can't fault him for not being enthusiastic. But hey, weren't we ALL at 7 mounths out with a brand new pouch to work with?
A Wagon plan isn't needed as an early postop I got really mad at him for suggesting people eat ice cream, cookies, muffins, ect! Saying sugar in milk didn't impact bloodsugars, ect These are ALL things that lead to my regain a couple years ago. I was so ticked and told him so! lol. I very rarely do such a thing but I was mad!
I made friends with him and corrected him on a couple things. Also I referred him to the bodybuilding site I use and introduced him to my mentors over there so he could learn more about nutrition, ect. They rolled out the red carpet for him in his first post and he hasn't been back. Made me look kinda dumb.
Anyway, I'm sure he'll still be around here..He was nice. Maybe when he's a grad and all those oreos and milk catch up with him. i hope he comes back when he needs US. lol
Molly
Hi Molly,
I agree with you! James is so right about BMR and exercise! Like you, i've corrected him on somethings. But over all he knows his stuff. He is determine, dedicated and he has motivation. I learned alot from him. He is very nice. I've made friends with him as well. He is such a good man. I love reading his posts and i hope he continues to keep on posting. :-)

His posts are not removed from OH at all. He just quit posting on the grad board I suppose.

Ladies we also need to remember he is of the MALE Gender. They lose weight faster and easy then us. Their body does not hold on to the fat like we do ( for child bearing). Their chemistry is different from us. My suggestion before starting this plan, go over it with your doctor.

the diet stuff that he writes about - BMR and exercise is actually from a book/website. He is sharing what he learned. And that i really appreicate. The ratio thing i still am cofused ... i need to read up on that more. Also What HE eats is a different story. I don't eat what he eats... and yes i agree we are females and our diet is different... but everyone's diet is totally different.. it goes by many factors. However, what he says is true about protein and carbs and eating them together and our BMR calories and exercise. That i agree with him.... but not the way he diets. He is still 7 months post op but he is learning about dieting and stuff everyday. And i have learned a lot from him already. Since i starting what he suggested - which is - eating at my BMR along with the right amount of exercising.... i lost 5lbs already.....so in some ways... James does know what he is talking about. However, I agree with you Laura that ...I do not recommend new post ops to start this plan - as they need to stay within THEIR Dr's/Nut's rules and always follow their recommended diet plan. This plan may not be good for some. and some it may work for them. It all depends... i guess. I know for me , i was eating way below my BMR. I should have been eating at my BMR. Just living and doing daily things around the house...running errands...etc , i am burning my calories... I was eating too little calories and burning my BMR calories... PLUS exercising way to much ON TOP OF THAT!..TO match up and balance out - between the both..... Calories and exercising! So, I did what James suggested and BAM! I started to lose weight. So, this plan is working!!! :-)

I started it a couple of days ago so I can balance my blood sugars. I was raging with hypoglycemic attacks. I am using the protein to carbs ration and found out I was eating more carbs before that I had thought. I have not had an attack in those 2 days. I saw my Dr. Monday and he said to eat several times a day as well. So far so good. I have to keep close to that BMR number to maintain weight but its worked wonders for my blood sugar. Jess
Hi Jess,
Wow , isn't it amazing? By doing what James suggested... i learned that i need to increase my calorie intake...and balance out everything.... i was eating way below my BMR. Now i am right on target!
This stuff that James writes and talks about - is NOT made up by him. it is a REAL diet plan that some guy made up. It is actually from a book/website. But James is learning from it all and sharing it with us. Thats all. And i am happy and appreicate that he is sharing this info with us. I wouldn't have lost 5lbs...lol I am going to go buy that book. and read more!
Jess, I am really happy to hear that this diet plan is working wonders for your blood sugar. :-)
