Anybody wanna start 5DPT with me?

I don't need to "test" my pouch. It works when I eat correctly.  HOWEVER....I did the 5DPT last spring before it was common around here and it really helped me take back control. It really helped me realize a lot of things about how bad my habits have gotten, ect.

So, for me, this is not about losing weight in the next 5 days but is more about a reconditioning of my mind and a renewing of my pouch. Not eating whatever you want REALLY makes you think twice before you pop it into your mouth.

I ususally feel pretty controlled and great about my diet and exercise but since my TT 3 weeks ago, I've struggled with snack foods and too many "bars", an excess of crackers and even a couple of my kid's popsicles!

So, I'm actually really excited about this. Anyone wanna do it wih me? Weekends are hard for me so it's best I start today that way I'm still focused through the weekend.

Hey Miss Molly,

I am more of a lurker, been that way for years!  Anyway, I actually started the 5DPT yesterday, I am down to 165 lbs from almost 300.  The last couple weeks I have noticed the demons commin back with a vengence, and it scares the hell out of me.  So I figured it ws about time to quit the excuses and get back to basics.

I had a really good day yesterday.  I went to the gym and was on the treadmill for 1 hour and burned like 550 calories, and had TONS of water, and 5 protein shakes!!!! 

So if ya are still interested...............im on with ya til Friday!!!

Sounds like you are doing great Lisa! For me, it's more of a head thing, like most things, lol!

Anyway, I'm glad you're with me on this. I can hardly wait to get back to the gym. I'm envious of your cardio session.

I read your post too late to start today,,but the rest of the day and tomorrow will be my beginning. Im out of control too,,,thanks to McDonalds Sweet tea!!!
I did the pouch test right after the holidays and got rid of all my carb cravings,,so I need to do it for that reason. And today im making sweet tea,,,with Splenda!!!

i remember when i was a new post op ...  I ate too many bars... and i couldn't stop snacking... either. There is a sweetner in those bars that is so addicting. Plus the chocolate! ohhh my...  It was triggering my OLD eating habits. I spoke to myself and said , I better stop asap! before i start to gain weight... this early post op. thank goodness I didn't but still. I was heading in that direction! I had to make myself quit cold turkey! Because thats all i wanted to eat... just protein bars and like you , cheese crackers. i think protein bars are just like candy bars on steroids. They make you want to eat more food! Well, at least thats what it did to me.

Anyway, i am not doing the test as I have my eating habits under control.... but i do wish everyone the best of luck doing the test. Try to stay focus. I will be cheering for you and everyone who does the test. :-)

Would you mind if I started the 5 DPT with you on Monday??  I tried to do it a couple of weeks ago, but couldn't get through day 3!!!!!!!!  I'm determined to do it this time!

Hi Penni and Holly,
I'd like to start the 5DPT with you on Monday 7/21 also.  I almost did it a couple weeks ago.  I did o****il the last day when I ate something that wasn't part of the plan.  I lost 3 # though.  This time, I bought ingredients to make the Pumpkin Sausage Soup and the Ham & Split Pea Soup.  I hear they are yummy. Good luck with the test!!
