Frustration has set in!!

Im am so weary of this weight thing.  I am 2.5 years out.... I am seriously confused about what I am supposed to be doing.  I have hypoglycemic episodes a lot and try to stay away from carbs... I dont feel much better.  I feel shakey a lot.  Then I get intense carb craving and have a bad day like yesterday eating carbs a lot of the day.  Then today back to the protein.  Its very frustrating and I am still gaining weight.  I am in a normal weight range but I want to 1) feel better, 2) stop gaining weight and 3) end the madness.  I should mention these episodes started around Feb.. I had some before but not this intense.  Why now???  Anyway helppp!!!!  Im so tired of thinking about food food food... Jess

I do not have the hypoglycemic episodes, but I know how you feel about the eating carbs and gaining.  I am so crazy these days.  i try eating correctly and do pretty good for a few days then something comes along and I am into the carbs again.  I have been using www.thedailyplate.com for a while.  It works wonderful as long as I use it.  Please give it a try.  It keeps you accountable.  I am going to get back with it in the morning.

I'm 21/2 yrs out & I also have the same issues. I was using fitday & then tried thedailyplate. I have to say I think thedaily plate has helped me more then fitday. I like the fact that I can look at it after iI entered what I ate & it tells me how many carbs,cal,protein I've had, And how many more calories I can have for the day. I didn't do it on Sunday & I was up 2 lbs. . My own fault. My DH made macadamian nut cookies.  I ate seveal through the day then decided to check out the contents. OMG!!!! 35 carbs & 120 cal EACH. I also craved carbs the rest of the day.

Does it seem like a carb or cal that we eat are different than a carb or cal that a "normal" person eats is different? I'm sure it;s my imagination but I feel that when I eat a carb it equals 20 carbs of what a "normal" person eats. By normal I mean a person that has not had RNY or had wt problems.

I will get my a$$ up & go to the YMCA today.

Awww he made the cookies... my husband has chefs training so hes a sweet eater as well.  Its hard to resisit.  I dont know the answer for this hypoglycemia thing but I have a drs appointment today and ill ask him.  The problem is when I get the test done my sugar is fine.  Take care,, Jess

I have reactive hypoglycemia and it does make it hard not to each too much sometimes. I have to eat every 2 hours or so, and even though I like doing that, it's hard not to go overboard on calories. I bet if you could avoid bad carbs (especially sweets) for a week or so, you'd lose a lot of your cravings. It helps me to plan what I'm going to eat, at least the best I can. I pack a WalMart sack full of snacks every morning to bring to work. Mostly protein and fiber bars. If I don't do that, I'll be in the break room getting crackers, and all that does is make me want another pack of crackers, and then another pack of crackers .... If i don't eat enough protein, I'll be starving to death in no time. A little reduced-sugar peanut butter on a piece of wheat bread always seems to help my sugar level and appetite. Those carbs (I mean potato chips, junk like that) will just make it worse. It's a sin they taste so good! Just remind yourself BEFORE you eat it, it's not worth what it does to your body. Not just your weight, but your health in general. You'll just need to find some better alternatives to the junk, not stop eating, but just eat better. Hang in there!

I try to avoid the bad ones then my body goes crazy and I want those things so badly.  I dont know if my body is trying to tell me something like it needs some carbs or its just me.  Im going to try the wagoneer plan and see if it helps... Jess
