When do you know When You Lost The Right Amount Of Wt.
I ask this question because. Because I will be three years out at the end of this month. And started out at 286lbs. 5/10 and yes big bones. And on good days I gobetween 150 to 152 and bad days 156. Here why I ask on my two year check up when I asked my GBS how low I could go in wt.He said I could go down as low as low as 140. Yes I do work out five days a week at the gym and walk ten miles three times a week. My scale will not go below 156. Here the problem. The Dr. I see for a blood disorder says I am to fat. MY GBS thinks I could still lose more wt. But my nut. that works for my GBS. Is yelling that I look like I am straveing and I should have stoped at 170.Yes my bose and my mom and ppl Iwork with feel I am also straveing even thou. I eat 1200 calories a day and drink 64 oz of water plus make sure. I have 70 grams of protien in a day. Yes I also make sure I drink 64 oz of crstyal lite ice tea. NO I do not feel good at the wt I am at because I have the feeling in side hat I have let these few ppl down for not meeting there goals. For support groups no I do not go to one because the one where I had my surgeryat. Is two hours a way.Thank you in advance for your help. Hope every one is having a wonderful weekend.

Hi,
I would listen to the doctor that did weight loss surgery. He is better able to know about your over all health condition. Maybe by being big bone frame amy make it harder to lose extra pounds. Now, why are you listening to all this negative advice? You are old enough to decide what weight you are comfortable with? You have not let anyone of those people down, this is not some game you are playing, this is real life. Your life? Take control of the tool that you have been given? What is your goal weight? Did these people go through surgery for you? Stop, Stop listening to them. Sound like you are at a good weight now. I don't know your other health situation so I can't comment on how much weight loss is enough. Don't let people control something as serious as losing weight with surgery. Thats between you and you doctor. Don't ask them for advice. Take care.
Am I understanding you.....you are 5'10", big boned and weigh between 150-156? At 156 lbs you are smack dab in the middle of the BMI charts....by no means are you "fat" like your blood disorder doc said.
I often worry when someone in the medical profession says these things, makes me concerned that one will go toward anorexia (sp?) because if we can trust anyone it should be our docs right? Well in this instance I have to say I TOTALLY DISAGREE with what your medical team is saying......the most important thing to remember though is are you happy? Can you live with where you are at or do you "think" you need to lose a few more lbs? Really it is about YOU.
Best wishes,

I agree with the cajungirl. You're at a good weight and could gain a little and still be OK. To lose anoher 10 pounds or so, you would probably have to starve and deprive yourself, and surely no medical professional would want you to do that!! Oh, and congratulations on your good maintenance after 3 years.
stop listening to all that lousy advice out there
its making you crazy. i would go with how you feel and if you are doing the right things for your health.
just for the record im 5'4 and weigh 142 so by me you sound right where you should be for sure.
as far as letting ppl down, they are not you and you are not them so dont use that as a yard stick to measure how you are doing.
i think you should ease up on yourself, you seem to be eating and drinking and exercising just fine to me. if your body decides to shed a bit more it will, and if not, i say learn to live in the skin your in. it sounds to me like you have done a super job so far

If I read this right you asked your GBS how low you COULD go -- not how low you SHOULD go. Did you also ask him how high you could go? I'm guessing he would say you could go higher as well as lower. I doubt if he thinks you are overweight. For your BMI, you are a perfect weight. Talk to your GBS again. Ask him what a good weight range is for you. I'm guessing you fall within that range.
As for your blood disorder doctor, where is he coming from and what makes him the one who chooses your weight? Personally, I wouldn't ask him for that kind of advise. It does not fit within his speciality.
Now, what your really need to ask yourself is whether you are happy with yourself? Don't let other people push you this way and that. You may need counselling to help you to accept yourself and the beautiful person that you are both inside and outside. Think about it.
