Mild discomfort at night

Have any of you experienced what I would call very mild heartburn in the middle of the night?   It's not really a burn more of a pressure sensation in the same area you would get heartburn.   This is new for me -- I've never suffered from heartburn and just wonder what it might be or if it could just be a passing fluke.  Any ideas?  Thanks much! I had gastric reflux before WLS and it does sound like you have a little big of that. Try sleeping with your head up higher. Either put something under the top of your matress to elevate your head more or use two pillows instead of one when you sleep. If that works, problem solved. There are also some OTC acid products out there that can help -- pepcid, prilosec and such. You might want to take them before bed and see if things improve. If this is something that continues for more than a couple of weeks, you should check in with your doctor. You probably shouldn't take those OTC products for longer than that without checking in with him or her and making sure it isn't something more than simple indigestion.

i agree with judy...try an otc acid reducer..i use prilosec.  if it continues, persists or gets worse, i would definitely call your doctor..wouldnt want it to be an ulcer.  try not eating atleast 2 hours before bed as well, this helps me.

good luck and take care
