Wagoneer Food Question
Okay...I have been bookmarking and reading James's Wagon threads (you need to post these and your daily menus all on your website!!! LOL)
I have a question...
When you say to balance your food (carbs with protein), these need to be eaten at the same time, right? Or, how close together time-wise? I usually made a skim milk latte for breakfast, drink that first and within an hour eat some oatmeal. Is that too far apart to balance each other?
Do I make sense?

All protein snacks are good because they don't effect blood sugars. They actually will increase the production of glucogen (Fat burning hormone). Too many protein meals without the presence of carbohydrates will send mixed signals to the body that not enough energy is coming in. The body searches for glucose which we get only from carbohydrates, if none is present, the body will break down muscle fibers (Secrete a nasty hormone called Cortisol). Cortisol breaks down muscle in order to supply the body with glucose, at the same time this hormone also assist with slowing the metabolism down to meet daily energy expenditures.
