Well, I read Skinny ***** It's funny at times and insulting at times... It's really about eating healthy, whole foods--oh, and being a vegan! Which I'm not... But it was interesting to read and it made me think more about my food choices. But be aware--the authors are not polite! If you are feeling tender hearted this is not a great book to pick! I mostly have been reading these boards to help me lately... Hang in there.

I have a book and associated workbook by Judith Beck called the "Beck Diet Solution." It's not a diet, but a program that helps you learn to 'retool' your thinking to help you learn to 'think thin' ... It's a 6 week program that I've been 'working on' for about 6 months. It helps me to look at some of my behaviors, analyze what's working and what's not. It causes me to rethink some of my old stereotypical thoughts about what is and isn't fair. I'm not there yet, but I'm learning to 'think thin.'

I think it's a great tool to help get my head in sync with my body and enable me to make the most of this tool I now have.

Wishing you every success,

Barb

Hi Kim,

I actually got mine from Barnes and Noble, but you can probably order them from Amazon. Be aware that there are two ... One is the book and the other is a workbook. I really think it's important to get both, but if you are only going to get one, get the workbook.

Good luck,

Barb

Not any motivational reading, but when I can get away with it (my hubby isn't here...) I watch all the junky weight loss shows I can--like X-Weighted, The Biggest Loser, etc. It helps me stay grounded and motivated. The reason I try to avoid them when he's around is that he rolls his eyes and teases me...

I could have written this reply - even down to hubbie rolling his eyes hehe. Yes, seeing that others can do it really motivates me.  I used to sit there on the couch eating stuff I shoudln't have while watching - now I do my stepper and get motivated by their success.   For me, biggest loser couples has just ended, so I don't know what I'm going to do...
