How much? How many?

Hi everyone! Im 18 months post op... been maintaining my weight since Jan. of 145lbs.. with a 5 lbs window up and down. Seen 137lbs once... Havent seen over 150 FOREVER! (Thank God) But I was curious.. How many calories, carbs, etc.. am I suppose to be aiming for? I find myself wanting to munch more, so Ive started keeping track on Fitday again..  What's your limits? What's your opinions?   Please SHARE WITH ME!!! Stacey :dance:

one of my friends on OH has been post wls for several years - she says to count the protien and stop when you are "full and wt yourself every day it works for her maybe it will work for you too i personally do what she advised me to and have done well, but, i am not at my goal yet  if i count up everything i get "obsessive" and i hate that kf

You look wonderful for not being at your goal yet! That's basically what Ive been doing.. I really havent counted anything since I met my goal in Jan. of this year.. BUT I do weigh every morning... I give myself a 5lbs window and so far its worked. Thanks

My doctor says to stay at 1200 forever.  I don't really understand that.  Where's that wonderful malabsortion when you need it?  If we never had surgery, we would lose weight at 1200 calories!  I can tell you that I eat waaayyyy more than that.  I used to count calories religiously, but I just can't get back to that point.  I'm like you, hovering around 140.  I would actually like to stay around 135.  Any more than that, my skin would be noticably looser.  I weigh every day and I imagine if I started gaining, I would get more serious about it. How many calories have you been eating since you started Fitday?  You can use that number as your guide and decide to go up or down from there. Wanda

My doctor has NEVER told me anything!  He says DONT count... But you know Im 18 months out.. I know I dont even get close to what I use to eat.. But I do eat often and I dont want to all of sudden be out of control. I decided to log on to fitday again to make sure Im not out of control. For 6 months Ive been around  143-148....  Which my goal was 145lbs... So Im ok with that.  I give myself 5lbs... I have told my self if I EVER hit 150lbs... Im back to square one. Somedays I feel out of control...... I hate that feeling!! Today Ive had 1573 cal.  Don't think I'll eat much more unless its fruit... My carbs seem high, but I did walk the treadmill today so not to worried. I dont know what my problem is.

maybe with our little pouches we can feel satisfied with 1200? and before with our big ole stomachs we thought that each meal was supposed to be 1200!  hehehee kf

Hi Stacey, I don't have a good answer for you, sorry.  I have been able to maintain at 132-135 for 14 months without doing the counting.  If I started having a regain of over 5 pounds, I would probably track on Fitday or thedailyplate.  I did track my calories/protein/carbs for awhile while I was losing, but I am not very diligent about it. My rules are always protein first, veggies second, grains last.  I weigh every day to keep within my window.  If my weight goes up a little, I drop the grains and stick to almost all protein for a few days with a few leafy greens. HI- Do you ever have days where you feel your out of control though? I think that's what happen to me... I have had a few bad days.. Not gained weight just didnt eat like I should. I've maintained for 6 months without tracking too!!!  I have a 5lbs window also.. and weight everyday. I pretty much have the same rules as you..... I dont do breads, pasta or rice.... unfortunately I eat sugar... Not a whole lot, but more than I want to. I think Im getting worried about "WHAT IF" ?  Before it happens!! LOL Thanks for your time!
