It was a very hungry day for me today.  It seems like the last 3 days have been non-stop eating days - it must be all the extra activity making me hungry. Standard disclaimer:  maintaining DSer.  Calories out the wazoo... B - lg. iced coffee w/ cream & sugar from Dunkin Donuts.  (No time for the usual breakfast sandwich, but I made up for it at lunch!)   Then I ran a bazillion errands, including a stop at Trader Joe's. L - a spinach & mushroom quiche from Trader Joe's, 4 oz london broil, 3/4 c. roasted redskin potatoes.  (The london broil & potatoes were leftovers from Sunday's dinner.) Then I made a stop at my brother-in-law's and took a swim in his pool.  Did some laps (don't be impressed - it was only 5), got some sun, made some vitamin D S - lg. iced coffee w/ cream & sugar from Dunkin Donuts, 5 glazed munchkins (because, hey!  salad for dinner!) D - chicken caesar salad (I made the dressing in the blender - very garlicky.  Mmmmmm.) Then we went back to my brother-in-law's house and swam in his pool some more. S - 1 enormous BBQ pork rib (my brother-in-law was grilling) S - 12 thick slices pepperoni, 1 oz. cream cheese, 2 oz cheddar cheese, 4 butter sesame pretzel sticks Whew!  That was a lot!

Perhaps you need to add protein drinks to your day to curb the hunger. I know those drinks help me. But, get a hold of this loose bronco before it railroads you!! But good for you for doing those laps!

Ick!  I really hate protein drinks - they're overpriced and they taste like monkey butt, for the most part. My weight's stable (I weigh every day).  Maybe today will be less hungry...

You are so funny! I like the achievone ready to drink from bariatriceating.com. For when I want something on the run. otherwise I found champion whey stack chocolate and another brand of powder american sports nutrution:american way:double chocolate 43$ for the container is very good. I mix it with a little milk and my coffee and its yummy. Isopures I don't care for, the peach mango is good for a ready to drink, but the others are yucky poo! I just keep trying stuff till I find one I like! But monkey butt or not...you still need the added protein!!!

The only protein shake I've found that doesn't have the faint aroma of monkey butt about it is the Banana Scream one.  It's not bad (but I make the shake with half-and-half - not much would be bad made that way!). I put all my stuff into fitday just to check my totals - I rarely do that anymore, since it's a pain in the butt, but here's what I got: Protein: 156 g  (625 calories - 375 absorbed) 21% of daily intake Carbs: 192 g (718 calories - 718 absorbed) 24% of daily intake Fat:  176 g (1588 calories - 318 absorbed) 54% of daily intake Total calories consumed: 2961 Total calories absorbed: 1411 DSers do need more protein than the other surgery types, but our recommendation is way below what I got yesterday (100-120 g daily).  You don't find many of us drinking our calories once we're more than 3 months post-op.  Personally, the only reason I tried the banana scream was because our newbies were raving about it on the DS board.  Vitalady sells samples of it - she also sent me a chocolate & strawberry sample for free, bless her!  I didn't really like those though.  I'm contemplating buying a jar of it, because breakfast needs to be fast in my house, or it's at Dunkin Donuts - and they're expensive!  I don't have time to scramble eggs, etc...  I loved when DH was doing South Beach, because for those 2 weeks when he was on Phase 1 and had to make his own breakfast, he'd make me whatever he was having.  Coming downstairs to a tiny omelet & canadian bacon already warm and prepared for me was such a nice treat. Thanks for the encouragement, though!  You made me get off my butt and actually put stuff in fitday!

Saying prayers for you hon. Ok day, but I'm really drinking way to much coffee, cold and hot.  Tonight I had a protien frap with 6 oz coffee, 3 oz half and half, 1 scoop vanilla protein and a very little amount of S/F Marshmellow syrup, lots of ice in the Magic Bullet.  It'll be breakfast tomorrow morning also, very good.

I'm *so* close to hitting century mark, again.. As of yesterday, 1/2 lb away.  I'm getting frustrated because I shouldn't be in a stall, but I'm dropping little at a time, again.  I did shift up my excercise, so maybe there's some swelling.. but this new med makes me retain water and I'm afraid it's slowing me down.  Also, I've been *trying* to hit 1200 cals, and I wonder if maybe 1000 is really my target area.  I think I may just go for the 1000 again for a couple of days and see if that helps.  At least I'm not gaining.. that's at least something. I do have a goal, though.  My inlaws have seen me at two weights.  320 and 230 (last summer, 6wks pregnant).  I'm hoping that when they come over in October, I'll be under 200.  Before, I wasn't as worried about hitting that goal.. but now I am a bit.  I'm smaller than they've ever seen me.. but I just want to really shock and wow them.  I'm petty and this is one of my small "needs". 1c coffee w/ ff moo 1c oikos w/ fibesure and 1/4c vive clif builder bar (my sugar dropped after eating the above.. WTF?) 1c oikos w/ 1/2c strawberries and fibersure salmon fillet twisted protein bar 1124 cals  27.39g fat  99.25g carbs  123.79g protein  18.75g fiber 30 min elliptical, 30 min lower body weights (machines and free)

woo-hoo 1/2 lb away!!!! Just do the best you can, it will come off...focus on how far you've come, and take the pressure off yourself. No matter what your weight, your inlaws will be shocked at the change inside and out of you! I am proud of you and so should you. Keep that protein up, and kudos on the exercise. Tha****er will come off!!!

Good day. I actually was low on calories so I got to have a snack at night! :-)

Exercise: I did ten minutes on the treadmill with an incline of 11 and then ten minutes on the bike doing intervals of level 3, 10, 20, 10, 3, etc. I did pull-ups, sit-ups, and lifted weights for about 15 minutes (chest and back mostly). Whew! I earned that snack. Hee. Hee.
