Okay i know this question was asked before over and over but need clarification again??
Okay i read on the messages boards people who have had TT with muscle repair, then i see just plain oh skin removal apron, then i read i had a TT anchor done.
I'm just lost.. Is the anchor cut better then the others oh what?? i need to no cause i was just considering regular TT but i see some WOW pictures of people with anchor cuts done PRETTY inpressive..????

It all has to do with:
the amount of extra skin
where that extra skin is
have you had any and how many children you have had to stretch out the muscles do you need muscle tighteing??
A good PS doc should be able to tell you what you need and DON'T need.
You should find a PS that has a lot of experience with WLS people because our skin may react a little different than the normal persons.
Like WLS just make sure you RESEARCH, RESEARCH and then RESEARCH more you ps doc. Go to several ask to see pictures, ask then if they have doen WLS people. In Cincinnati, OH there are 2 VERY GOOD docs that do WLS people with GREAT results.
Good Luck,
Robin

Excellent reply from Robin, pretty much answered your question. Seeing you had Dr. Davis as a WLS surgeon, I'm sure he could give you the answers you need. In my case, I had two C-sections and an open RNY scar already, so having an anchor cut TT made perfect sense for me. I had a tremendous amount of skin above the belly button, as well as a large pannus (the skin that hangs down over the pubic area). I needed muscle repair from the lifetime of morbid obesity and the pregnancies. I also had three very small hernias that needed repairing. Without the anchor cut, I know I would not have been happen with the results of the panniculectomy alone. My insurance covered all of the TT surgery, thankfully. Since it looks like you still have more weight you would like to lose, you have lots of time to do the research. A plastic surgeon who has extensive experience in weight loss patients will know what you need. Go see several doctors and get their recommendations and price quotes.

TT with muscle repair - it repairs the damaged muscles underneath
Skin Removal - 'panni' it removed only the skin, over time the skin will sag again some because the muscles underneath were not tightened (typically over 3-5 years).. as for the level of sag, I cannot say, depends on the skin... insurance companies typically do not pay for a full TT which is why people get only the panni done, if they are paying OOP its cheaper.
Anchor cut is used if you have that extra spare tire *above* the belly button (almost like two hanging bellies) sometimes a TT cannot help that area so they have to anchor cut to get the smooth appearance... it really depends on how your belly looks what needs to be done.
