Im so sad and depressed... Post Date: 7/8/08 12:20 pm
Okay just came back from seeing my primary doctor (female doctor) that is. She found a  cysts on my ovaries so she needs to drain it she said its growing its not cancer or anything but it does need to be taken care of.. So I told her about my surgery that i had planned for October which is the TT , i said will that affect anything, She said no not really but you might want to take care of this first cause the plastic surgeon might not want to do unless this is resolved.. So much for that. ! Has anyone out there had a crsy and what was there experience.. I guess im just nervous and need some feed back from someone who has gone threw this.. She said its the size like if i was in my second trimster of pregency.. Wow. so that explains this discomfort ive been having in my ad area that i was ignoring all this time...

I have had cyst on my ovaries before but they have always taken care of themselves.  I have never had to had them drained or anything.  I hope you feel better soon.  I hope it does not interfere with the TT Denise

I have had problems with ovarian cysts in the past.  But my doctor has always put me on a low dosage of birth control pills to see if they would shrink and go away.  So far, that has always worked.  But I am having problems again, and I believe it is cysts.  My abdomen is always bloated and I have some pain or discomfort.  This one may be too big to treat with hormones.  We shall see.  I just had uteran ablasion done back in December.  It is like one female issue after another.  I hope you get all of this resolved and it doesn't affect your TT.  Good luck!   Melissa

Yes  ... they hurt! First I have to tell you that it was way back in the Dark Ages when I had problems, so the treatment has probably come a loooong way.  From the time I was 18 until I finally had a hysterectomy at age 30, I had several. Most of them disolved on their own. One grew and strangulated an ovary and fallopian tube; that was an emergency visit to the operating room. The final one was the size of a basketball and did all sorts of damage to other parts because I let it go too long. (The cysts were not the cause of the hysterectomy) Don't suffer. Get it taken care of so you are healed and healthy for your PS. Annette

I had a cyst drained, and then another removed - about a year prior to my WLS.  It was nothing!  They put me to sleep, and it was similar to the lapriscopic procedure that I had w WLS.  The one thing that scared me - was just prior to going under the procedure for the cysts - my gyne said "If I go in, and I cant get it, I'll have to do a partial - full hysterectomy".   I'm not ruling out the possibility of having another child, so that sort of scared me - that his back up plan was so severe.  I wasnt prepared for that, and it made me nervous.  But, when I woke up from the operation, he was able to get it lapriscopically..... which was great!   I havent had any pains in years.........   Hope this helps!

I have a really "impressive"(Dr's quote) one on my left ovary and more on my right....I have to go see a surgeon since all other methods for me aren't optional at this point.  My age and smoking make it so I can't take bc pills.  I have my fingers crossed that the docs will take care of ya and have you up and ready for your plastics......Good luck! Please take care of  your cysts and follow your doctors advise.  My doctor also  told me that these cysts are not cancer.  I went in to have the cyst drained and they found ovarian cancer behind my cyst which was a complete shock to my doctor and myself.  Of course my case was a very unique one because something like this does not happen very often.  Actually my cyst was a blessing because I would not be here today if  I did not take care of the cyst.   I had to have a hystetrvyomy and 9 months of chemo but I am cancer free now for 17 years.

I have recurrant cysts on my ovaries. Sometimes they jsut shrink down all by them selves and sometimes they grow so large they rupture. its nto scarey but it is pretty painful. its my understnading that most women get them at one time or another in your life.
