And the good news is (I guess) I didn't gain this month! HA!

So..I was hoping to see a drastic weight loss from cutting down on my drinking etc.. and these last two weeks doing pretty good on my calories and working out almost every day...but through the month I went down four lbs, up 5 lbs and now back down 3 lbs.. or something like that.. and so now just shy of ONE month have managed to maintain my weight. Didn't lose..but I've been gaining the last 6 months, so step number one is overcome! No gain! Now this next month it's on to losing! lol...At the least I can say I'm much healthier this month then i was last month, and that's worth SOMETHING right? I'm doing a LOT of good, and a LOT LESS "bad"...and over all feel GREAT! So now that I'm tracking on the daily plate, and getting work outs in (things I didn't do the first two weeks of this month, I just cut the drinking way down and cut out a lot of the snacking) I should be seeing more success... more "visual" success... I AM NOT A NUMBER ON A SCALE!

SO, Happy Fourth everyone! And here's to a GREAT and SUCCESSFUL month ahead!

GFU! That sounds like an accomplishment to me :) Cutting out the drinking & snacking was a great first step - increasing your caloric burn rate was a great second step! I say keep going & you'll eventually see the results your looking for.

Thanks for the encouragment! I was hoping just cutting out the drinking (since it was pretty heavy for a while) woulda been enough to drop like 2 lbs a week..but I wonder if I just ate more after I cut that out...I don't know until I started tracking on the daily plate.. so we'll see what this next month brings. The good news is I am married to a wonderful man..and for so long I was told "if you want to get married you have to lose weight".. so I had issues growing up with THAT mentality...but I "have the man"..not a reason to "relax' about it, but maybe a reason not to OBSESS about it.. and just focus on good habits and let the weight loss come as it will...slowly but surely. I've lost and maintained a loss of over 130 lbs...I still want to lose 80..and I have the "tool" to do it..so what if it takes me a year..I'll be a year older next year with or withOUT the weight loss.... so I'm still just going to aim for slow and steady... Thanks Candice! Leslee

ISNT THAT FUNNY!!! i too was so hoping that once i stopped drinking the vodka/cran that i would see a huge negative difference (since i apparently was able to see such a huge positive diff. when drinking) - you with me? BUT NO!! I didnt... much.... & havent... much... so aiight =- lemme just be thankful & think of it as giving my liver a break wait wait wait - you've already LOST 130lbs?!?!!?! & have managed to keep that off?!?!??! OMG LESLEE!!! THATS A HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT!!! You should be VERY proud of yourself!!! I lost about 130 total - but have somehow managed to find 60 of that again (hehehe).

"I AM NOT A NUMBER ON A SCALE!" Amen to that SISTER! The scale is just a number but it still doesn't tell you how you are doing. If you feel good and are healthy...That is all that counts.  Cutting out the heavy drinking and snacking is an amazing feat..And just because that number on the scale doesn't go down doesn't mean you aren't building muscle and health...You are.. Check the fit of your clothes...It has to be changing. Working out works those muscles and they respond... Keep up the good work..

Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

I KNOW!  I'm a total scale ho - every morning!  It does help me keep focused. As long as I stay in my range, I'm happy.
