OT-Pantyhose question

I can't offer advice on what's good out there - cause I don't think I'm ever going to be willing to put back on pantyhose or high heels.  Back in the eighties I wore both to work every day commuting to downtown San Francisco.  (It was a fun time for me.  I hadn't gained "the weight" yet and it was so exciting to be living and working in such a big place). I have to relay a conversation I had recently with my daughters (14 and 16).  In the conversation, I brought up pantyhose.  Blank looks on their faces.  I said "you know - nylons".  They not only don't wear them - by the time I got to "you know - like tights but more sheer - skin color", I realized they really didn't know what they were!  They are out of style and have been for about a decade.  Winter or summer - nobody on T.V. or on a red carpet or even at my husband's office (I asked) wears them.  I know they are still worn cause they still sell them and I sometimes see them on women. I think they make ones legs look better and it seems to dress things up.   I think a lot of women tan in tan salons now - or get a spray tan.  Both of my girls had bad experience with the over the counter sunless tan products (can we say orange and streaked).  I deserve to be a prune because I grew up in Florida and worshiped the sun all through high school.  I'm not sure but I think they are really out of style.

I buy Leggs---and even though I should wear a smaller size (I don't even know if it would be A or B) I still buy the queen size---because they're more comfortable to me. Even though they're officially too big for me---they don't sag or pool up around my ankles or anything. I wear LOTS more dresses and skirts than I used to. I, too, have heard they are out of style--but then what do women wear in the winter with skirts--other than tights???

I wear them in the late fall/winter/early spring when I'm at work.  Now that I have some color on my legs, I don't bother.  I like the No Nonsense shapers - I wear the size B, but that's because I can pull the control top up to my bra and have it smooth out my abdomen   I've worn their lace-topped thigh highs during some, er, athletic intimate moments and they never slipped, so they get a big from me!  I'd wear them exclusively if I didn't have to worry about holding in my droopy tummy skin!  They're really sexy!

Brilliant idea---pulling the shaper up over my upper tummy skin and tucking it in under my bra!

I work in a legal office and I have to wear hose in the winter time. My favorite brand is Silkies (silkies.com). They tend to hug a little and I don't get those elephant-skin bags at my ankles like some of the other brands. They're also really good quality and don't have to be replaced as often.

I buy one size larger than the package says.  I like leggs.  Match your skin tone.  Never wear off white or taupe.  Is is very aging.  People don't wear hose with open toed shoes anymore only pumps or other closed shoes.  I am as pale as can be, but I am wearing my denim skirt without hose and with sandals this summer. i figure my legs are pale whether or not anyone can see them.  i wear the skirt with black tights and bots in the winter.  Have fun. I don't mind hose since I fit in them better these days. The brand I really like are from the Dress Barn. They are supportive & durable.

I wear hose all the time, as I never wear anything but skirts or dresses. I wear Suntan mostly, or black with a dressy black outfit. Once in awhile I even wear taupe (guess that ages me, huh? Im 61, so thats ok! LOL) I wear them with open toed shoes as well, and sometimes sandals. All my friends do too, and they range in age from their 20's to their 70's. So, its really a personal preferance thing. (As far as being out of style,,who set those styles anyway??? Hollywood??) I have a 19 year old grandaughter that wears pantyhose all the time to church as well. I dont wear them with a denim skirt, or around the house, but to church activities etc, or a night out, I wear em! Leggs for me! Sheer energy! They make me feel dressed up! Besides making these old legs look better . I recently had the veins done with laser therapy, and my legs look great, but even better in a pair of sheer hose! Hubby loves em!! Be Blessed! Betsy

Got some of the hose I ordered.  The thigh highs are great and they do stay up!  And Queen was the right size (not 1X or 6X JUST Queen!!!!) I bought light support and they make my legs look great---smooths out the excess skin. Thanks for everyone's help!
