OT-Pantyhose question

Now that I am particularly pleased with my legs and ankles (no more cankles!), I have decided to purchase a few skirts for the fall.  BUT it's been years since I bought a pair of hose. I used to just buy the biggest pair at Catherines in BLACK (thinning, you know) and hoped they fit. What's the trick in buying pantyhose and anyone have a favorite brand?

i hate pantyhose!  LOL   ..and rarely wear skirts ..but if i were going to, i'd wear tights instead, they seem to be a bit more comfortable!  hehe   good luck in your search!

I didn't think anyone wore pantyhose anymore!!!!! I live in the South!  It's too hot!  I can't remember the last time I wore hose.   If I were to wear hose now, it would be in consideration (to me) that no one wears hose anymore; so, I would select a very THIN, SHEER hose.   The thought of wearing hose is making me sweat!  LOL  I'm sorry I'm not much help but wouldn't department stores like Dillards, Macy's, etc. still sell hose?  I'm sure you can find a salesperson that would be happy to assist you in what are the biggest sellers and why!?!?! I love pantyhose!  Of course I live in one of the coldest states in the country so I don't have the overheating issue. They give you a little or a lot of support and provide a nice, polished look. I wear panty hose even in the summer...But the thing about them is that I don't wear the same size anymore. I used to wear (20 years ago) Leggs size B..Good ol' Size B. Then I wore Queen Size..hmm. And they were snug. Obesity. Now after losing all the weight, I wear a SIZE A...But the problem with that is I like the support stockings. The tightest ones they have so you can't see the giggle from the loose skin...Have you ever tried to look for size A panthose in Support? HA. The rest of the world is wearing QUEEN SIZE Support stockings...Not me. I have to be weird.  I love Leggs Support or Sheer Energy Panty Hose...The BEST, in my opinion.

Thanks, ladies.  For our Southern friends, you gotta have something when that Ohio November chill blows up your skirt! I was thinking of support so thanks for that idea---anyone ever try those thigh high things?  Do they really stay up?

Thigh highs do stay up. They're nice in the summer - need I explain why??

I'm voting for Leggs too!  I love them!  I used to buy the Queen sized too.  It's funny because they used to be hard to find because ladies were buying them as soon as they hit the shelf.  It's sooooo cool to be in Size A and they have TONS of them.  I buy tights too only because they can be pretty funky.  I decided "if" I got small no more matronly things for me.  I got a mini dress and funky tights and I'm all set for Fall. LOL  Have fun with it!  Buy colors you'd never dream of wearing! Good luck!

Gosh...You could send me some Size A in nude if you have that many....They don't ever keep them in our Walmart...When they finally stock them in, I buy several boxes (four packs). I used to buy from the Hanes catalog of close outs cuz it was cheaper and I was always snagging them but now that I'm a size A...I don't.  I have the orange and black striped tights for halloween to wear with my black mini skirt...Fun to wear the different colors.

Do they have any that smooth out your calfs? My calves get all wrinkly when I put on hose.
