Carb control

(of which I have none btw) - but it's all making sense now. For the past 2 days ive been at my target caloric intake (instead of WAAAYYYY BELOW like last week) but my weight hasnt decreased... why?? im thinking its due to the amount of carbs im intaking. the protein still out weighs the carbs percentage wise, but the amount of carbs has increased about 15 - 20%. (i love to see this on the daily plate. ive kinda become addicted to it lol) SO im thinking if i lower that amount, I'll start to see more of a difference on the scale again.

OMG!!!! ok so just for kicks, i calculated (on TDP) what a "typical friday morning breakfast" would be. 1 Noah's blueberry bagel & a 1/2 glazed twist donut..... LORD HAVE MERCY!!! **NO WONDER Ive been gaining weight!!** that came out to 350+ calories & 67% carbs!!! HAHAHHAHAHA OMG!!!! ya, i will stick w/ my Soy Protein banana shake TY

Isn't it amazing what "one little" of something will do to throw the WHOLE day off?! Daily plate has really helped me see that too!

I, too, am addicted to The Daily Plate.  I love that site.  I have kept a food journal since surgery over 4 years ago, but had gotten a little slack.  But the daily plate makes it so easy and really breaks things down where you can see where you need to tweek things a bit.   Melissa

You have only been at your target caloric intake for TWO days - I would say your weight hasnt decreased because its only been two days... my opinion would be instead of making change after change allow yourself two weeks to 'test' this current eating and see where you land. If you have been way below on calories and are just finally getting in enough your body may need time to adjust and realize it will *keep* getting these calories and not go back to being 'starved'.

And when I see the scale has increased two pounds, I look at my calories and can say for sure that I have not taken in 7000 calories more than I've burned...Cuz I've only taken in MAX 4000 in two days anyway.. Just hold steady and the weight will come off when your body decides that it can't hold onto it any longer. Some people (including me) call this famine mode. The body thinks you're experiencing a famine and hangs onto the weight to protect you from dying (basically) and when it sees that you are still getting enough protein it will let lose of the extra weight and you'll see a drop..Famine induced stall...LOL.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Two days is 4000 calories. meaning I'm trying to get in 2000 calories a day. Special cir****tances here. I'm below goal and trying to maintain and maybe gain a pound or two over then next several years. I usually don't post this around newbies cuz...They get the wrong idea. You can look at the accountability threads and see how I'm even getting that close. I heard it said that to lose a pound you have to have a deficite of 3500 calories. To gain a pound you have to take in 3500 extra calories. No way am I doing that with 2000 calories a day. And actually, I'm more around 1700 to 1800 calories a day.  Didn't mean to scare you. LOL

Ok... so I guess I should go to this "daily plate"... where do I find it and how hard is it?  LOL!  I'm glad you figured out your problem!!!  I'm sure I'm getting to many carbs too, now I NEED to know...   Thanks,
Sheryl
