Hello All! I did the 5dpt a couple of weeks ago. I felt great the week I was doing the 5dpt, but right when I went to day six I went crazy wanting carbs. Anyway, that is just me. I've seen others on here do great.  I am thinking seriously of going to WW tomorrow. Is anyone else doing this? Thanks, Janie

I joined - went to two meetings and quit.  I'm too lazy to count points and the other one is just a list of foods you choose from.  I can't believe anyone loses weight on that.  Counting points though works to lose weight.  I don't know how healthy it is for us though because we need a lot more protien. I say whatever works for you and you feel comfortable - go for it.

After over 30 years of "dieting" and paying someone to weigh me and tell me what to eat - I refuse to do it again now that I've had WLS.  I'm 5 years post-op and far from perfect, but I feel if I need support - I'd get it here or go to a local WLS support group.  I know what to do and know what to eat, I have a tool, I just have to keep my head on straight.  Is mine straight all the time?  No.  But I'm done feeling guilty for every last morsel that goes in my mouth.  There are much more worthy things in this world to feel guilty about. Just my opinion - sorry to spout off on my 'issues"...good luck!

I have done it and it jump started my weight loss again...at this time I was stuck on 148 pounds..with the meetings and fun of joining with two other people I lost 14 pounds..I have kept every bit of it off and every now and again I go back to weigh in. I understand joining...the good news is once you set your goal with them, achieve it and maintain it for 6 weeks you are a lifetime member and can go free as long as you don't gain...Everyone is different, but I NEED to be "weighed" in sometimes....If you do join make it fun! I use to go with two girls, we went to get a light healthy sub afterwards each week and then went to the movie!! I looked forward to it and actually miss it now..I also agree with the other poster about giving someone your money...I did that for many many years..always lost weight but always gained it back...Another suggestion I have for you...Start your own meeting...After weight loss surgery....Do weigh ins if people want to...do little contest...Just meet up and talk about real issues that come up..which sometimes helps with emotional eating...Go to the movies together...etc. I am doing this now and I love it. I am making amazing new friends and we help to keep each other on track. Good luck to you!
