Why do I feel guilty when I didn't do anything wrong??

So today was day 2 for me of the 5dpt.  Food was pretty much the same as yesterday.  Nighttime eating is hardest for me, so I made a cup of the pumpkin soup...at half & spilled it out.  I FELT GUILTY about eating it cause it's nighttime eating, which i'm TRYING to avoid.  How many SF popsicles an I eat at night, and should I?  The 5dpt says we can eat as much as the soups/shakes/puddings as we want, so WHY DO I FEEL GUILTY.?  i drank all my water, 2 shakes, 2.5 sevings of soup... I go from eating out of control to being totally black & white with this 5dpt.   Anyway, just ranting.  Lost a lb. this a.m., I'm scared to step on the scale in the a.m. g'night all.

Good start Karen....  I tend to think most of us go from 1 extreme to the other.  I promise I am getting on the bandwagon next Monday...and I didn't have any wine last night.....it's a start!

Karen, I don't understand it either......I also go from one extreme to the other, it sure would be nice to find the happy medium. You did nothing wrong, your body probably needed the soup last night.  Two shakes and 2.5 servings of soup really isn't much; think about it. Nighttime eating is my vice too!  I ate dinner last night and told myself that's it.  Nope I didn't take my on advice I wanted "something" so I ended up getting a slice of 98% Lean deli ham.  I cannot pinpoint why nor can I control myself in these instances; it does drive me crazy sometimes.  However, I'm working hard mentally to accept that late at night I need to "feed the addiction" as long as I choose something good. Good luck!

When I cut and pasted the above link it took me to a oriental web site all wrote in a foriegn language, with Anime stuff at the top. Is that the right site?

Also nice to see I am not the only one doing night time eating. I get so frustrated with myself. Some nights I am up 3-5 times to nibble.

Karen,

I also get the guilty feeling.  Even when I have not fallen off the wagon.  I think it is the diet devil.  lol lol  Plus I think for me it was the fear all those years of the damn scale.  I think it is best to just try and do the once a week weigh or even once a month just to keep a check on things.  I hope you are feeling better this am! Thank you all for responding...was out all day today. Yes, I feel better, I've managed to lose 1.5 lbs so far, which of course leads me to ask how I would feel if I lost nothing, but let's not go there.   I don't get up once I'm asleep, but I always read myself to sleep, and after I start reading, I'm up & down, 1popsicle, 1 pudding, 1 more popsicle...but I guess I should be grateful for progress, not perfection...last week it certainly wasn't those things I was going for! Going to eat my tuna patties for dinner...I'm hungry!
