WOW. That's horrible. Strapped down? Yikes. I hope you're feeling better.

Other than a migraine, I'm better. The idea behind the straps are to keep you still (as in, not on the floor.. remember I was upright) so they can continue to get the HR and BPs to make a definitive diagnosis. I know *why* the straps were there.. but when you are fighting conciousness, you don't think too clearly and you panic. Funny how I remember the panic and the clausterphobia..

Just the thought of being strapped down would have me in a panic..I guess they must have confirmed their diagnosis. I might have wished i'd kept it to myself too. Can they fix it? If they can't fix it or if the cure is worse than the condition (meaning the meds mess up something else) why go through all that anyway.  I've had issues with test-dumby doctors. They run tests and say "yup, I was right." but then say there's nothing they can do...WTF?

My son is 16 and has had Vasal Vagul syncope since he was 10. He had dizzy fits and would throw up until I got him in a ball and gave him something to eat.  First they thought he was hypoglacmic   OH goodness it's early so forgive the spelling.  Then they thought he was diabetic.  Well he had an episode that lasted a couple of hours and we got him to the ped ICU  While on the heart monitor his resting HR was very low.  As he slept I would go to 40  and the alarms would go off.  They strapped him to the table and he threw up and passed out cold.  The neurologist came out and told me yea that's what he's got.  He was on meds for about 6 months that raised his BP  I was told to give him the salt shaker and lastly a high protien diet.   YEA  that one you got covered.  It just sounds exactly what he has.  Worth looking into.  Feel Better

I've been off the boards for a while, but have started lurking here the past few days. I think I need to get in on this accountability check--I've been backsliding--sneaking foods, overeating, making terrible choices... I feel horrible and feel horrible about it. I can't talk to friends or DH because they all say things like, well, it's not really that much, and you exercise so much that you need to eat a little more, etc. etc. Of course, these things are not helpful to me! :-( Confession: I've gained nine pounds in the last five months. :-( I'm back here for help!

Well, you are certainly welcome to come hang out with us..We do daily accountability and post our food. We also weigh in on Friday mornings. If you really want to know what you are eating, though, you have to find a journaling software like fitday.com to post your intake and see where you are and where you can tweek your diet. I hate to say diet and would rather say intake.  It's also up to you to keep honest with yourself on what you eat. If you're sneaking food and not telling anyone, it's not helping.  Be aware that several on this board (including myself) are struggling to gain weight sensibly so our food lists and calorie/fat/protein totals will look strange to someone trying to lose. We try and lend a sympathetic ear and encouraging support to everyone here. Be sure and put how much you worked out in your daily posts too...It all counts and everything matters.  See ya!
