Maybe if I keep telling myself that it will sink in. O.K so I got LOTS of great advice from everyone on the Carbs post from yesterday. I combined that with my experience of this last year. MY experience? I have done the atkins induction at least 10 times this last year, each time losing about 10 lbs, so I've lost about 100 lbs right??? WRONG I'm now 40 lbs heavier then I was a year ago. I'm learning "extremes" like trying to stay under 20 carbs are simply not maintainable for me for more than a few days. So I am going to eat carbs, but I'm going to make sure I also get in over 100 grams of protein. I don't think I'll go as high as my trainer wants with 50% carbs, I don't think I coudl do that and still get all my protein in. But I'm liking the 97 grams carbs 43 crams fat and 130 grams protein, that sounds like a really healthy balance to me. And I also like the idea of balancing my carbs and protein out. The 15:7 ratio makes sense to me, So my carbs should never be over 100 grams and I can always eat MORE protein then the 7 grams per 15 carbs, but that' sjust the minimum of protein I need with those carbs to keep the blood levels stable.
SO. I'm going to tweak my diet a little, and instead of just counting calories and trying to stay under 20 carbs, I'm going to try what I just wrote above.
this is going to be difficult for me..because I am in such a mindset that ALL carbs are BAD even too much broccli is baaaaaad!! I'll let ya all know how I do end of the week with this.
p.s, yes I started the 5dpt AGAIN but it feels like what I've always done, the extreme thing for quick results. So once again, I've decided not to do it. Just so you all know where I'm at with that... I'm going to go for slow and steady this time, 2 lbs a week seems SOOO slow after what we're used to...but I'd rather lose 2 lbs a week at a steady pace t hen gain 20 more lbs in the nexxt 6 months!
