I just had a 2 month bloodwork to re-check my anemia situation.  I'm happy to report the conservative method of upping my iron supplementation has worked. I wasn't sure that it would as I was compliant with iron supplementation prior to onset of the anemia. Ferritin was 1; now is 7 iron saturation was 7%; now 27% hemaglobin was10.4; now 11.4 hemacrit was 31.1; now 33.3 I'm still a little low, but I am pleased with my improvement. The hematologist is pleased as well. He said the ferritin is the last to show the most improvement, but it should continue to come up.  Along this anemia journey I have educated him re; the benefits of the carbonyl iron. I do believe he will use this info in the future. I'm to have follow up blood work in 6 months. But will take advantage of my hospital's wellness fair and get an update in October. Thanks for all the suport and info. Belinda

Congratulations Belinda, that is a great accomplished in 2 months.  I'm sure when you go in October you'll be feeling even better and seeing those numbers back where you need them.  Keep us updated!

{{{{{Belinda}}}}}} Big bear hugs!  I am so incrediably happy for you!  I'm so glad that the carbonyl iron is proving itself universal. I was afraid that maybe it was just me getting lucky for a change, and I just responded well to it...But the more people that switch over  to Tender Iron (carbonyl) , the more that come back with great results and the more that spread the news so others too can benefit.  Pay it forward and tell anyone that you run into with iron troubles!  It truly works!  So you won't need iron infusions now right?  You are still very low...but what a great start with supplements only!  You should begin to feel better and better...  It's been a long several months for us huh?  It's even a longer 6 months!  I'm almost there for my 6 month recheck...in August...I can't wait to see where my iron levels are... Stay in touch! Hugs! Anita

Thanks Anita!!!! Nope no iron infusions for me. The hemalogists said that the numbers are heading in the right direction. That he expected the numbers to continue to rise over the next few months. The ferritin would be the last to show significant improvement. All the other areas will have to improve first. I'm so glad he listened to me re: the iron carbonyl. The nurse hadn't documented the change to carbonyl iron in my chart. But I had the chance to discuss the benefits of the carboyl iron at my appt. He wrote done the info to do some research. I'm glad I had the positive test results in my hand at the appt. It has been a long 2 months, but it has passed by so fast. It won't be long before its your time to check your numbers again. How are you feeling? Any improvements in your elbow and hand?  Thanks again Belinda
