5dpt recipes on website... Can this be true?

It Is What It Is!!!

For anyone who has tried the 5dpt and used the recipes listed on the website.  For instance I am really curious, I made the Tuna Parmesean patties this morning.  I used all the ingredients listed.  Is it true that 1 patty (the can and mixture made 4) is really 284 calories?  I added up all the calories from the tuna, the flaxmeal, the egg, etc.  How could this have come to 284 calories for 1?  This is really a lot for such a small patty. Am I reading this wrong? Anyhelp would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have not made that but I made the Egg Brunch and the Mustard oven baked chicken strips and those calories worked out right as far as I could see.   Denise

You didn't like to recipe but I have a good idea what's in it. Calories are likely being increased by the Flaxmeal.  Now, the recipe probably has Flaxmeal instead of the wheat flour often associated with ___patty recipes.  HOWEVER, there is no such thing as a "free lunch" and  so by using Flax you reduce carbs but increase calories and fat. When looking at different flours consider: Carbs, Calories, and Fat.  You can lower one or two but the others will go up.  Pick your "poison" Personally, I'll stick with stone ground whole wheat flour.

That does sound like a lot of calories, even with the flaxmeal. Could it be for the whole recipe or for a serving of two patties? Regardless, it sure sounds healthy!
