Hello everyone, I have been lurking here for a few days and boy am I glad I did! I'm not new to OH, but having been switching forums quite a bit. I guess mainly because I am feeling quite down right now and feeling pretty lonely. I am 1yr 3mo post op and made it down below goal 0f 160. Right now though, I have regained 10 pounds at a really rapid rate. I know exactly what I've done to get there just like all of us do. Some of it also has to do with chronic pain. I had a cervical fusion back in Feb and now I'm scheduled again for another one at a different level on Jul 9. I know, whine whine-it's no excuse. So anyway, I have started my first day of the 5dpt. (Apple if you read this, I think I'm with ya .) Right now, I'm writing because I feel like I'm going to totally lose it and mess up my first half day. It is so good to read all of the posts you all have made. It gives me hope. Anyway, thanks for reading and letting me vent. Sheryl

Just wanted to welcome you Sheryl! I have done the 5dpt 2x's and its hard. I probably started it 10x's, but was only successful 2x's, LOL! I think that's the norm for most of us though. Hang in there and do the best that you can.

Thanks Tracy and Dawn! I appreciate your encouragement. I know it would be easier also if I didn't have 5 kids that eat in front of me all the time! Oh well. Right now I'm having beef broth that I have mentally turned into a cheeseburger and some fries. lol! Hugs, Sheryl

is that mental transformation workin for ya! That was cute. I hope you're doing GREAT. I'm not "officially committing to" the 5dpt but I am technically very succesfully through 2/3 of day one! So.. at this point I figure I'll keep going with it. I've only had two shakes and not really caring for food. I've been eating a LOT better the last 5 days, and tracking everything, and working out, cutting out most "bad" carbs..etc... and so maybe my body is more ready for the 5dpt now.. maybe it was just to drastic to go from drinking a lot and eating crap to straight liquid diet..  So I'll let you know day by day if I continue onto the full 5 days. (yes I have commitment issues! lol) Leslee

Sheryl, You hang in there.  They (not sure who they is lol) say the first two days are the worse but I found the 1st day to be the worse.  Drink some water, do something that will take your mind off food.  Chew some gum something.  I promise you tomorrow you will feel much better and it will be easier to stay on track.  Good luck!
