Ok, so im at the end of my groundhog day 2. I dont think ive had enough protein (shake wise) today - but i have had a bunch of other stuff. Oh, sorry - i mean ive had yogurt, 3 crackers, 2 tortilla chips, 5 peanuts, 40oz water, 2 - 16oz pumkin protein shakes, 1c. of watered down clam chowder soup, & a couple pieces of chopped lettuce from the left over salad (no dressing of course) w/ a spoon or 2 of pico de gallo - but i mostly drank the juice. NOW, im home & its taking everything in me not to make a turkey burger (or fry up a steak for that matter). I am now soooo hungry!!! im totally craving salty things & dont know what to do - what to eat.... i think the only thing i can do go to sleep so i WONT eat...

You could have something liquid or mushy...Maybe refried beans and some melted cheese with some salsa added (and whirred in the blender)?

i KNEW i should have taken some of those left over beans home from work!! all of that sounds really good - except for putting it in the putting it in the blender part :) Thanks for the idea though!!

My biggest challenge was to think outside the meal...I mean think of something else for a snack instead of chips and such...Mini meals are what I eat now.  See ya!

yes - i usually do cottage cheese & fruit or veggies w/ranch. but sometimes (seems like more so lately) that i need salt. ive probably been wanting more salt lately b/c of all the sweets (jello, pudding, pumpkin protein shakes). but just like the jello blah blah blah - cottage cheese & fruit/veggies gets old. what else do you snack on? What kind of mini-meals do you do?

I figure cottage cheese (1/4 cup) TVp (1/4 cup) and salsa (maybe 1/8 cup) is a mini meal..Has my dairy, protein and carbs. I switch it with ricotta cheese and toss some parm cheese on it and some spagetti sauce (if I have it) and nuke it for a while...Mini meal. 1/4 cup brown rice,/1/4 cup cooked ground beef, any sort of sauce...and some cheese. another mini meal. Used to be these meals would consist of 1 cup of rice and meat and tons of cheese...I need to keep it small now.

This time of year we need alittle extra salt with the heat or we'd sweat out all tha****er we drink. At least around here. I am drinking 80+ ounces of water (not counting the coffee) a day and still my lips get dry. I guess I need to quit sporting around with the top down on the car...NOT!  Today I have several snacks in my lunch bag. I have a 12 oz bottle of V-8 juice, 1 oz cheese stick that i'll wrap a piece of ham lunch meat around, medium orange, 4 oz Dannon Fit and Light, SF pudding snack and a 100 calorie bag of micro kettle corn. Lunch is 1 cup of lettuce and 4oz of cooked shrimp, frozen. 2T salad dressing and that's a big meal. Most of the time I leave alot of the lettuce and just eat the shrimp and the dressing..Today I added 1/4 cup of left over canned corn from last night.

If you can go to sleep, go to bed!!!  I proud of you that you could keep it to a couple of chips and a few peanuts.  I think if I started, I would have had a difficult time to limiting myself to that small portion.  You could have the turkey burger tomorrow, huh? Hey, what is a pumpkin protein shake?  Is it good?

i love pumpkin & make awesome SF pumpkin cookies :) So i basically took that recipe, minus a few things & converted it into a shake. its: 1 can canned pumpkin (not the pumpkin pie mix - straight pumpkin) approx. 2 cups NF milk (depending on how thin you want it) & a bunch of: netmeg, cinnamon, & pumpkin spice I never "measure" anything - so everything is done to taste. its makes about 1/2 of a 1 liter pitcher (say for iced tea or something). i then dump it into smaller protein shaker w/ a couple of scoops of protein powder & some water & shake away. i love it!!

That sounds SOOOOO good!! You're totally making me reconsider the 5day thing.. I just don't want to try it again until I am SURE I will make it through! I have a feeling you have the tenacity to do such a thing! Keep me posted! Leslee

i was not able to go to sleep.... instead i went to the grocery & bought the makings for pumpkin soup & puerto rican beans. Just finished cooking up the beans & poured a couple of cups into the blender... UMMMMMMM That was a great idea!! Topped w/ some shreded cheddar. omg thats good!
