Monday Accountability

Can I start? I've been up since four and want to go to bed! Ok. I really don't want to write out everything I ate both on thedailyplate AND here, but I do want to be part of this accountability thread. If I have to rewrite it all here I'm afraid I won't continue on this thread. So on the days I'm not in the mood to write it all I'm just going to write my total numbers. So for today:

Total Calories 1,151. *Net Calories -456. Fat 36 grms. Carbs 89 grms. Protein 115grms

* Net calories is the amount of calories consumed when the calories burned from workouts are subtracted. I moved a LOT today!

Fat and Carbs were a little high, but I would consider this a very successful day! Leslee

Hey missy -  Have you tried doing the 5dpt? I think staying under 1200 cal/day is good. your protein count looks GREAT!!! I dont understand the net cal, & agree the fat count might be a little high (but honestly, i have no clue, so pls dont hold me to that). Im glad you put the carb count in there too - i also agree that might be a little high (but again, i have no clue or base knowlegdge to go off of). Do you know what the RDAs on this is? how is the training calendar coming along? I found it useful to print out a month & the X off the days after i had completed that days task. If i hadnt done anything that day - i wouldnt put an X. this information turned out to be a strong VISUAL TOOL b/c at the end of the week i could SEE what i had accomplished vs. how much i was lagging :) which in turn, pushed me harder the following week. Keep going sweets :)

The training calendar is working GREAT! I have our whole 3 month routine to prep for the hike all planned out and so far we've stuck to it to a T. I was just thinking about doing the X thing for the visual, so great minds think a like. Thanks again for that, I can't believe I've talked my husband into doing this with me... but I really think he liked the "if you train with me for three months I promise I won't touch alcohol for three months" so he drags his butt out of bed EVERY morning so far without me having to say a word! I even got us set up with some sessions with a personal trainer, something he didn't want to do either, but he's seeing how happy I am working out and not drinking that he really wants to support that I think. Working out and not drinking is probably the greatest thing I've done for me lately, and I feel so great! Leslee

Leslee,  I missed this post when you put it on. I'm sorry. I love these numbers. Your protein really really rocks. I don't think your fat count was high..The carbs, maybe alittle. I can't remove the calories consumed. I haven't figured that out yet.. You're doing good.

Hey thanks! A compliment from you means a lot cause you're always so diligent about your tracking and stuff!.  On thedailyplate you type in what you eat and it keeps track of the calories, then you type in your exercise and it keeps track of those calories burned and automoaticaly subtracts them from your total consumed calories and shows you both. So Like yesterday I consumed like 1,150 calories but burned over 1,200 calories so my 'net calories' was in the negative. Does that make sense? Anyway, it's really cool.

I wore a pedometer for a while until it just plain wore out. I walk about 4-5 miles a day. Not bad for a desk job but I don't walk all that fast. So it's hard to judge for me. I was up at 4:30 am this morning cleaning and doing laundry...it's just hard to judge how much exercise I'm getting but it must be enough to make my net gain in a day zero...LOL.
