I changed jobs and now mainly sit whereas before I was constantly moving. As a result, I put on 10 lbs in about 4 months. I joined WW online and am on day 4 and so far, so good. Am doing the points plan as opposed to the core plan. Anyone else resort back to WW, and did you have success getting rid of regain?

Barb,
Please keep us posted while on your plan. I used W*****Watchers before WLS and the most I ever lost was 6lbs. I'm doing the 5 DPT right now to gain control of my pouch and to hopefully drop a couple pounds. Will you be able to fit some type of exercise in while on your new job? Can you walk in the evenings or get up early and exercise? Easier said than done, I know!

I am on my fourth day now, and so far so good. The plan allows you extra weekly points, and I delved into them a little last night, but other than that I have stayed within my alloted 21 points per day without too much trouble. I haven't weighed myself - and won't until I finish a week - but I don't feel as bloated as I did when I started.
I hate exercise. There. I said it. I didn't exercise much during my weight loss, but I was logging about 14,000 steps a day at my work. I may have to start since my new job is sedentary.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I did ww point system on my own a while back..ok a year and a half back, and it was my first realiziation that I was eating way too much. I couldn't understand why I wasn't losing weight anymore, so I got all my point stuff out, calculator..etc. And the first day by eleven a.m I had already gone significantly OVER my allowed points to lose weight! it was an eye opener. I didn't continue with it, but it helped me realize how much I was eating. Right now I'm prefering keeping track of calories with wwwthedailyplate.com. but I think ww is a great system to help keep track, let me know how it goes.

So far, so good! I honestly can't imagine being able to eat all my points by 11 AM now - but I sure could have before the surgery.
Thanks for the encouragement and keep on keeping track. I think it is the key.

yeah.. I don't remember how I did it.. lol But I just remember thinking "WHAT?" I'm out of points?! My day isn't close to being finished. The thing with the pouch, it may only hold a cup, but it's what's in that cup that counts! have fun with it!

Barb,
Congratulations on getting on top of this gain now before it gets out of control! I moved from San Diego where I was very active, to North Carolina where I now have a 12-hour job working nights and sitting the whole blasted time. I am looking for another job but there few and far between paying what I need in this area of work.... ugh! Anyway, that said, I gained 30lbs before trying to do anything about it... Please keep us posted on how it's going with WW, I have thought about it but was hesisitant. I did the 5dpt and did well until day 6 when there is no plan. UGH! Right now I'm trying to go back to basics but that's hard also since my pouch isn't as small and I'm not as scared of hurting myself (almost 6 years PO).... I have lost a bit doing the mini-challenges here on line, keeping me more focused....
Good luck!!!

Sheryl - I looked at your profile and you have done a wonderful job! I think it is easy to let this weight sneak up on us, and I don't want to ever be heavy again. I, too, was heavy all of my life, so this has been a really wonderful thing for me, health-wise, finally at 52.
I have been on WW numerous times since age 10, but this is the first time I didn't have at least 100 lbs. to lose. I can actually picture following this plan and reaching a goal - that makes it so much easier. I am doing it online, and only paid for the joining fee and one month, so we will see how it goes. 21 points is not a lot of food, but it seems to be enough for me.
Take hold of that 30 lbs. now. You can do it!
