OT ... Can you let me know what you think?

Thanks for the compliments. I've decided to wear the brown to the wedding and the other to the reception, so I get to enjoy the best of both.

We are actually from the Bay Area, but we are from the south bay where it is much warmer than SF proper. Actually, the long sleeves on the jacket may be a problem because it's likely to be hot, but that's okay ... what price beauty? LOL

Thanks again,

Barb

I am from the bay area & know 1st hand how chilly it tends to be ANYTIME, but particularly in the evenings in the city (being san francisco).  I loved the low cut back eggplant dress for an evening gown - night out on the town type of thing. But i also felt the the rootbeer dress was for fitting for the mother of a bride or groom at a formal event.  dang - that sounds hella snobby - NOT MY INTENT AT ALL.  Nonetheless, weather wise - I do think that the rootbeer gown is better suited for the city.  Unless you plan on wearing a trench or something over the other one.

Hey Candice!

I'm actually a transplant from San Jose myself! I used to live in the Almaden Valley. The wedding will actually be held at the Ainsley House in Campbell and then the reception will be at the Villa Ragusa in Campbell, so my concern is that I'll cook in the jacket since it's an afternoon wedding in early September. That said, what price beauty?! I've pretty much decide that you are right that the brown dress is really great Mother of the Groom material, especially considering that the bride and my son favor a tailored look. I'll switch into the plum dress for the reception so that I can embarras my kids 'cut loose' on the dance floor ... LOL.

If you want to touch base, PM me. I'll be coming out to SJ in early August and I'll be out there for about a month or so.

Thanks again for the input.

Take care,

Barb

OH SHOOT!! IN THAT CASE - You are 100% right - LOL You know exactly what the weather will be like & you probably will cook in that jacket. Switching to the plum dress & cutting loose on the dance floor is a great choice! Have FUN!! & congratulations :)

Both are very pretty but I like the sleeveless one with and without the jacket.  I used to live on the west coast so I know that a light jacket is handy any time of the year!

Thanks for the compliments. I hope that it will be cool enough to warrant a jacket, since we are in the south bay area, it's likely to be hotter than Haiti.

I love both of them, you look fantastic in either one...I prefer the style of the first BUT the second you look thinner and I think it suits you more. Just my opinion for what it's worth.  Let us know what you decide.   Either way, you'll look amazing.

I've decided that some habits die hard and I want to have my cake and eat it too! LOL I'm going to wear the brown gown to the wedding and the plum one to the reception.

Thanks for the compliments and input,

Barbara, You look fabulous in both dresses.  Very shick in the brown and gorgeous in the eggplant. My vote, for the mother of the groom, is the eggplant.  The brown shows your figure wonderfully but IMHO the eggplant looks more appropriate for the MOG.  I love the backless!!!!  Whichever you choose will be perfect for your son's special day ~ he'll be proud of you no matter what I'm sure.
