Hello everyone, I read about many people making protein coffee.   HOW DO I DO IT??? I have several DiVinci syrups--I use Van. and Van. Cinnamon protein powder from Vitalady--I just don't know how to mix it. I also love cold coffee.  I have fallen in love with McD SF Iced coffee but saw how many carbs in a large (over 20 if I remember correctly!!) and decided no more!! Any ideas would be welcomed!! Thank you all so much for sharing your lives and your journey with us all!! Robin

I did not know that McDonalds had a sugar free version.  Do you think the carbs come from the naturally occuring ones in the milk?

YES--McDonalds does make a sugar free version of their iced van. coffee.  I just looked up the nut. info.  Here is what I got:  Large (32oz.)  Calories: 120  Total Fat: 11  Carbs 16g  Protein 2g.  Got the info from mydailyplate.com.  I looked it up on McD website but honestly, the print was so small and blury I couldn't read it!!! I would assume the carbs/sugars come from the milk--don't know what else it could be. Either way, it will have to be a special treat for me instead of my 2-3 times a week regular!!! Hope I get responses--really want a coffee with protein (that I can swallow without gagging!! Have a good day, Robin

I just asked the same thing in one of my posts and this was the response "1 C coffee (instant or fresh brewed or even cold) 1/2 C soymilk or reg milk (i use unsweetened soy) 2 Scoops (or a serving) vanilla or chocolate or one of each protein of your choice (I use EAS whey/soy blend) Whip it altogether and enjoy.... Obviously you can make this as fru fur as you want too...add ice chips and a dab of SF whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for those bad days you need a nice treat!  LOL  Or make with chai spices or pumpkin pie spices for a spicy kick....SOOOO many variations..." I had it JUST now as I'm typing this, for dinner (decaf) and it is SUPER good! Leslee

The problem with any kind of hot protein is that it can easily clump if the liquid is too hot.  If using real coffee, you need to let it cool.  With a little experimentation you can get it right. A while back a read a recommendation of the Cafe Motion by Mr. Coffee on the LAWS site.  I bought it and just LOVE it!  It stirs and heats at the same time, works perfectly for us.  It costs $30 at Target, link below. I use a cup of water, a scoop of chocolate protein, 1 T of instant expresso and a lot of Toriani SF chocolate syrup.  Delicious!  You can add non-fat creamer or a little whipped cream.  Any combination of protein and syrup you like will work. My latest addiction, Toriani SF White Chocolate-- so yummy! I make protein coffee all the time. Mix 4 to 6 oz of liquid of your choice, water, milk, etc., 1 scoop of protein mix, and syrup flavor choice for the day. Mix thoroughly in the cool liquid.  It will closely resemble any other liquid coffee creamer such as liquid coffeemate or international flavors.  If you are drinking it as a warm drink, temper with freshly brewed coffee (approx. 12 oz.) and stir again.  Continue tempering and stirring.  This recipe makes a lg (20 oz) cup of drink. I have found that this eliminates the clumping problem with the dry protein mixes.  This recipe is so flexible.  There are endless flavor combinations possible. For a cold coffee drink, combine the above recipe with shaved ice and blend until smooth.  Add a shot of whipped cream for a very tasty treat. Enjoy.

You need to dissolve the protein in cold liquid before adding it to the coffee...you can mix the powder with milk to dissolve then add it to the coffee which has chilled with ice or you can add ready to drink protein like EAS or Muscle Milk Lite. I like 8th continent orig. lite or lite vanilla soy milk, a splash of FF 1/2 and 1/2, coffee and sf syrup, tiramisu or vanilla hazelnut or splenda coffee flavorings. I make it at home and work, yum!
