I had outpatient surgery on 6/12 to have what the Dr.s were calling non melting fat removed in preparation for a lower body lift down the road. Even after losing 170 pounds and being super boney everywhere else I still had huge fat pockets on the outsides of my hips. I came home feeling wonderful, legs looks fabu, that was Thursday. Woke Fri am feeling great no real pain just a little sore. Went to potty & BAMM  blacked out....speeched was slurred, blind  it was bad. I thought I had had a stroke. Talked to Dr. & Hospital staff and it seems that is completely normal due to anesthias and Blood pressure dropping. On a regular day my BP is 110/70, so i guess I really dropped out. sucked down sodium Fri, Sat, Sun & Monday but everytime I lifted my head the world was spinning. Monday evening was much better so i went to work Tuesday and fainted again.  so increased fliuds and sodium (I think I bought a beef jerky plant heheh)  and stayed in bed thru wednesday nite.  Came back to work Thursday & Frid...swollen bad now, couldnt get into any of my clothes but NO PAIN, just a bit soar. Only ever took one pain bill from my bottle. Well now Friday and Saturday I feel great  swollen like a house but was expecting that and maybe even for months. Sunday work up to the feeling that I was being stabbed in my thighs. Pain is so bad even today. I have called my Doc but would like to know if anyone else has ever had this delayed pain. and before you ask I was taking it easy. still keeping feet up & using ice.  OH BTW  for FYI only  day of surgey I was wearing loose size 12 jeans and my home scale read 193.2   Today I borrowed my friends size 18 slacks (and they fit) and home scales says 203.4.   Doc said he removed almost 4 liters which he said was 10 pounds. Thanks for any imput Diana

Oh Diana, I'm so sorry that you're in such pain!!! What an experience!!! 10lbs is quite a bit though, so I can imagine it was quite a shock to your system. I hope that you feel better soon! I'm sure the swelling will go down (hopefully quickly) and then you'll feel much better! Keep me posted on how things are going. ((((((((HUGS)))))))))

Thanks to everyone *****ad or Wrote   Today is Thursday and Im finally having an ok day. My Doc said the delayed pain was normal because my synapses were trying to repair now that swelling is down a bit. I dont agree that swelling is down but who am I to argue.  I went Tuesday to see my WLS for my monthly visit and his scale read 200.5 (man I wanted to die BUT i am suppose to know better) he also said his machines showed I was holding an extra 10 pounds of fluid then usual.  I told him about my plastics and he looked confused, guess he didnt realize I was serious enough to do it even tho the plastic surgeon shares an office with him. when I told him about the black outs & pain he had me undress and he FREAKED OUT   immediaitly made me go to hospital to get a dopler test to make sure i didnt have a blood clot...I DID NOT  thank God but the test was beyond painful  so I went home last nite and slept from 6pm until this am. Today swelling is down some and pain is there but better. Bruises look great today.  anyway BOth docs assure me it will get worse before it gets better and the swelling could last for months. UGH    I can tel already that my legs have more of a normal shape, the half basketballs that use to be attached to my hips are gone. but I can also tell that I am gonna be one lumpy bumpy saggy chick....bring on the tight jeans lololol    thanks so much for your replys Diana

Ouch. I wish I had the guts to do what you're doing - I need it so bad. I hope it gets better soon.

You poor thing!  That must have been quite a shock to your body losing 10 pounds - the weight gain must be fluid retention in the swelling. I haven't been through this so have no advice or wisdom to give you.  Just wanted you to know that there are people sympathising and thinking of you. Hope you are feeling better soon

I am sorry to hear you passed out!  I had the same thing happen after my outer leg lift.  You remind me so much of myself.  I wear a medium to large top and a size 12 pants.  I am very much pear shaped; although, the outer lift helped things.  The swelling in this area lasted a few months.  I hope you keep us updated on the outcome of your surgery.  I have talked to three plastic surgeons about just my inner thighs, and they all agree I will need three surgeries.  I am interested in the outcome of the debulking.  I am not willing to undergo three more plastic surgeries.  Thanks and well wishes for a speedy recover.

Diana, sorry you are feeling so much pain. Have you checked in at the PS board? You might find someone who has gone through something similar. From what I have read the swelling is normal and will last a while and it is common to have a weight gain with the swelling and from the iV's you got. As for the the delayed pain I don't know about that but others have said that their recovery from lipo was painful.

Hope you feel better soon and can enjoy your newly shaped legs.
