Dried Peas--high protein snack

I've written about these before, as they offer 6 grams of protein per 1/4 cup. But many have written to me privately about where to get them also. On my profile page, I have a review of them, with a new web site where they are easily found, and at a much less cost than commonly found over the Internet. This new web site should be finalized later today.  A one pound bag has 108 grams of protein, content 4 1/2 cups. So it's a lot of protein "bang" for a minimal fee. Dave

I love peas - do they have to be dried for the protein benefit? I don't know if I could eat them dried.

They're crunchy like peanuts, and slightly salted. Think of them as a healthy "crunchy" snack. Not many healthy foods with that crunch anymore. Only thing I can think of is a fresh carrot or celery stalk. Most crunchy foods have high fat or sugar content.  The peas are already dried, that's why they're called dried peas.  They taste like peas commonly put on the dinner table, only crunchy. No refrigeration needed, easy to put in a ziploc bag and take anywhere, etc. If you love peas, you'll love these. DAVE

Wasabe Peas are crunchy with the same protein and they have a kick of spice that will melt your socks if you aren't used to it... I've found roasted green peas at the 99cent store too...I'm thinking of mixing roasted green peas, Textured Vegetable Protein, raisins and roasted soy nuts for a WLS friendly trail mix...Might work good.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

If they were "really hot" , then you had the wasabe--they have horseradish on them. Dried peas are only lightly seasoned with salt, and have NO HOT SEASONINGS. DAVE
