So I woke up starving this morning!

...BUT have not had any night time snacking for over a week and a half! And the locks on the fridge and pantry have been off now for three nights! I think it helps having a low cal low carb HIGH protein drink before I go to sleep to keep my blood sugar more stable during the night. So for anyone struggling with night time eating, give that a try. But seriously? What was with being so hungry this morning? Did my body just somehow KNOW I was starting the 5DPT today? lol Leslee

I've actually started to think it's a good sign when I wake up hungry!  If I'm hungry when I wake up in the morning, it means my body has used up the calories I gave it the day before, and it's ready for more.  When I wake up and I'm not hungry, I wonder if I've eaten too much the day before so my body doesn't need/want calories to get started.   Anyway, just a different perspective that may be helpful.  Good luck with the 5DPT - it's can be a good way to detox from carbs and give you a little jumpstart.   Kellie

Good point, Kellie. I remember reading something about that back in my chronic dieting days!

Wow! That's great. I know how hard it is to break that habbit/behavior.

Good luck. One day at a time.

Hi Leslee! It sounds like you're doing great! I almost always have a protein drink before bed too b/c alot of times I get the shakes from low blood sugar around 11pm so I've found that the drink helps with that. I'm so happy that things are working out well for you!!!! Wishing you continued success!

That makes perfect sense. I never have protein too soon before going to bed because I read somewhere that it can interfere with quality of sleep. Has that been an issue for you? Maybe I need to quit believing everything I read!

Nope, no problems sleeping at all! I like to use my UpCalD in that last protein drink at night too b/c they say calcium works well on resting bones.

You are doing great! It sounds like your body is telling you to feed it since you have stopped that night  time eating.
