Food and sleep
I have a question to ask everyone. Do you find yourself falling asleep if you eat too much? I know a lot of people have different reactions to eating. Some get full and feel really yuckie. I have never felt anything but a slight preasure and the feeling that I have eaten too much in my thoughts but not from my stomach like so many others. I find it a little upsetting but even more upsetting when I am in mid sentence with my parents after having had one more sausage than I really wanted, and literally pass out. Like a switch was flipped and I had no choice. I feel a little narcoleptic.
Tell me your stories.

I will do this if I have WAY too many carbs for this PCOS gal! The thing is, how many is too many? My body likes to fool around with this number...sometimes, it's x#'s at one sitting and I'm snoring like a bear in hibernation, or it could be that small # of carbs with dinner, but added to the rest for the day, and I turn into the carb drunk, barely making it to the bed and sleep for 10 hours! This normally happens to me if I'm crazy busy in life, grabbing things on the go, not tracking my carbs like I should, and OOPS! Way too low on the H2O.
Very early out, my NUT told me to avoid carbs like the plague....less than 10 at a sitting. As time progressed, I could increase the carbs to a moderate amount, but never the norm(30-60). If I were to consume carbs like I should, it would be through veggies and less than 90/day.
One time I "passed out" after eating some homemade meatballs and when I woke up, my DH was standing over me with his hands on his hips and wanted to know "Did you get ahold of some candy or a donut?" He wasn't being the food police, I had scared him and he knew that I ONLY reacted like that after eating too many carbs. He was scared and confused when I passed out after eating protein. That was when I decided, for safety sake, to start documenting my food intake again to monitor how many carbs are too many carbs for me. Now, he or the kids can head to my notebook and check if it's from too many carbs and not panic. Although, I do have to share that my daughter has now progressed to "Mom, you're getting close to the limit....how 'bout we skip (insert carb) and have another veggie instead?" I know that there are some who would be indignant over others' interference on MY food consumption, but we're a family and they want me around for a very long, healthy and productive life.

(sorry so long!)
oh yeah, this totally happens to me from eating sugar. I am almost three years out and testing my limits (I know, I shouldn't). I had 2 bites of a lemon bar from Starbucks while waiting for a friend and she found me sound asleep at the table!! I wasn't out for more than 10 minutes, but this could be quite scary if you didn't know me. So, I now know that concentrated sugar like that is a no no.

Oh yeah, happens to me to! From too many carbs usually, Sometimes it lasts an hour,,I just gotta take a break and take a nap
,,and it ends just as abruptly as it happens. My family just grins now when they see me start to nod. Its been almost three years since surgery, and it doesnt happen too often, but when it does they know what it is.
Just part of living the WLS life!
Be Blessed
