How did everyone do on this lovely Father's Day. We had a good day and still I managed to keep track of what I ate. I did a bit of snacking too. And I'll probaby do some more too. It's very early in the day to call it quits, even for me! I learned my lesson about skipping my oatmeal in the morning.  Breakfast: oatmeal, TVP, soy milk, coffee Snack: 24 oz water with ice and drink mix Second Breakfast with friends: 3 egg omelet with fresh spinach and swiss cheese, coffee Snack: 24 oz water with drink mix Snack: 1 oz cheese stick and ham lunch meat and a 20 gram protein bar Snack: 24 oz water with drink mix Dinner: Spaghetti and meat sauce with additional TVP (never get enough protein with the spaghetti dh makes...But he made a mean taste sauce!) I probably need one more 24 oz water with drink mix before I head off to bed and la la land.. Totals for the day:  Calories: 1833 Fat: 75 Carbs: 150 Protein: 151 Now that makes up for yesterday!  How did you do? Staying the course or veering off in a new direction for the day? Come on in and tell us  how you did...

Hello, I hate to ask a dumb question, but what is "TVP"?  I would love to add some extra protein to my regular meals.  Can you tell me how you use it and where you get it? Thanks! Jill

TVP is textured vegetable protein (soy) and there's aplace to get it on line: harmony home food.com (I think). I get it at the local mexican market or over at the health food store.  I put it in my oatmeal in the mornings. It really has no taste on it's own but it looks like chunky dehydrated ground meat. Last night re-hydrated about a cup of it and put it in the spaghetti. It wasn't bad but I used too much of it. I should have used about a quarter cup instead of a cup. it made well over a cup of chopped "meat"

You didn't eat much at all Sunday! My problem is finding any snacks that have protein in them other than protein bars..I think jerky is my only other one...Protein bars have too many sugar alcohols and carbs...Give me gas!  You didn't do bad at all. See ya!

Morning all.  Hope all had a good Father's Day (well.. you know what I mean).  Hubby wanted pizza for his dinner, so we had pizza.  All-in-all, just a quiet day for us.  Kaitlin's birthday is tomorrow, and we decided to get her a fish tank.  So she and I went and picked one out, along with gravel, some fake plants and a thingie inside.. filled it up and it's circulating to get the water conditioned.  We'll go tomorrow for her actual birthday and get the fishies for it.  (And yes, she picked out all the stuff.. she had limited choices, but she def. knows what she likes..  It's a very colorful aquarium!) 1c oikos w/ fibersure protein drink 2 slices of a medium cheese pizza w/ grilled chicken (papa john's) 1c oikos w/ fibersure twisted protein bar 1168 cals  26.33g fat  111.67g carbs  121.16g protein  14.5g fiber No excercise.  Day off. Icky.  My bones *hurt*.  I know why.. it's the D deficiency.. but damn they ache.  I hope my mega-dose D helps soon.

OH I love aquariums! I had a nice big sal****er aquarium years ago (before it got to be so automatic with the bio filters and stuff). Now we have land hermit crabs in huge tanks. We have 45 hermit crabs from all over the world and run a sort of crab-rescue here..LOL. not the same thing.  You did really good! look at that protein number..Awesome.  See ya!

Wow...lo cals and high protein..I love the beef but, like you, I have to split up a meal with it..I can't have 5 ounces of steak all at once. chicken, I can do that or fish...or shrimp but steak, I'm eating really slow cuz it's one of the densest proteins, I guess.  I love your totals. I think the only creature that gets more protein for the calories on this entire planet must be a tiger...Raw meat and lots of it..LOL. Rrrr.
