I woke up this morning totally congested so I called off work for the day and headed to the allergist. When I got my allergy shots, I had a mild reaction but they gave me a shot of benedryl so the rest of the day was shot. I'm not sure when I ate anything or drank anything but I'm behind on water cuz benedryl is gonna dehydrate me...Still sleepy!  Breakfast: oatmeal, soy protein, TVP, soy milk and coffee Snack: (well, more of a second breakfast) 3 fried eggs, 1 cup of hash browns and two strips of bacon (wow..greasy)  Lunch: 4 oz broiled chicken, 1 cup lettuce, 2T Kraft Light Italian Dinner: 3.2 oz grilled salmon patty, 1/2 cup french fries, 1/8 cup ricotta cheese and 1 T Ranch dressing.  Totals for the day: Calories: 1666 Fat: 76 Carbs: 130 Protein: 124 I'm so thirsty...I may just have another couple of bottles of water and hit the bed.  How did you all do?

Hope you feel better!  I had a pretty good day except my lunch didn't stay down too long (dunno why...maybe ate too fast or the meat was too dry.  At 3.5 years out the pouch still gets grouchy...nothing like having to throw up in the trash can in your office while being on a conference call.  A day in the life of a RNYer!). Here's how my day went:  B: usual coffee w/H&H, 4 oz. vanilla soy slender + vanilla cinnamon protein powder.  S:  sf mini protein cheesecake w/1 Tbsp sf lemon curd.  Prelunch:  Diet Swiss Miss cocoa + 1/2 scoop mochaccino protein and 1/2 scoop Any Whey protein.  L:  2 oz hamburger patty, 1 slice american cheese, 1 slice bacon, 1 tsp mayo...it all came up about 20 minutes later, ugh!.  S:  Revival salsa soy chips.  D:  4 oz. chocolate soy slender + raspberry protein powder......a bit later had a microwave-in-a-minute muffin (made w/flaxseed meal).  S:  Atkins caramel latte protein drink. Cals: 1465 Fat: 65 Carbs: 81 Fiber: 25 (yeah for flaxseed meal) Protein: 143

I just recently tried bacon...this day was the first time I ate two whole slices... I have to say it really didn't taste all that good to me. too salty and the grease seemed to stay on my tongue..I felt like wiping my tongue for an hour afterwards.  Yeow! Your numbers look really good. LOVE that protein number. Just love those microwave muffin things. I use flax sometimes in them, most times it's almond meal..I haven't had one in a while. The last one didn't agree with me too well. I guess I'll have the continual grouchy pouch too.  See ya.

Calories seem so low to me but the protein number is really good. Good luck on the nutritionist.. My biggest advocate came in the strangest place. My allergist. He makes sure my meds are absorbing and had my blood work run. He was the one that suggested the Celiac Disease and had me tested. He actually made the dermatologist angry...He's making my insurance angry now because he wants me to have allegra that disolves in my mouth instead of in my stomach..He really understands the process for WLS patients.  see ya!

Yeah, they are low. I had to force myself to get to that point, tho.  The protein shake was at 10pm.  The bar was at 11:30 pm. Don't know what was up with me.. but I was still only at 400 at 8pm last night.

Everyone that posts here seems to eat so well.  Am I the only one who doesn't eat anything really 'special'?  I have never liked the protein drinks or added protein supplements so I try to get my protein from regular food instead.  Is that hurting me? Anyway, I am down two pounds this morning, so I am going in the right direction.  B: 2 scrambled eggs L: 2 low carb tortillas with 4 cheese sticks S:  South Beach Diet 100 cal bar D:  2 oz pork chop, 1/2 cup cheesy hashbrowns, 1 piece garlic bread (a no no...I know!) S: 1 rice cake with 2 tbs pb, 100 calorie beef jerkey Totals: 1335 calories, 71 fat, 85 carbs, 98 protein Too much fat and carbs, but not too bad,  Unfortunately the protein that I enjoy is high in fat...cheese sticks and peanut butter...such is life.   My goal today is more water!  I don't drink enough water at all. Thanks guys and have a great day! Tamara 242/229.5/170 regain/current/goal

I know some people don't do the protein shakes or add protein at all but my goal is to be over 100 grams of protein a day. By trial and error I found that I feel best with that sort of total. I use soy protein powder or TVP in my hot cereal in the morning because otherwise it would be just carbs and I find that the hypoglycemic reaction I get from those white carbs is just unacceptable. Add protein and it side steps that...AND the hot cereal warming up my pouch helps get me started in the day. Without the hot cereal (and God knows, I've tried it) I just can't get more than 1000 calories into me in a day...And if I want to maintain and not lose more, I need at least 1500 calories, more like 2000 calories.  Each of us has our own path and our own goal..Most of us don't need help on how to get there. Some need just alittle encouragement..We're here to point in the direction that seems appropriate. I have cheese sticks and occasionally peanut butter too. It's not bad. Fat is alittle high in those choices but I think I need that for skin and hair health...As I said, our own paths.  You're headed in the right direction and doing well. Keep it up, the goal is attainable!  See ya.

For some reason you are wanting the cold sweet stuff. Maybe put a scoop of protein powder in that shake and make the extra calories count. without that shake you'd have been just about 1100 calories..Which is pretty low. add 60 calories and 13 grams of protein and you've got a pretty good day..Even with the extra calories...Maybe turn that "cheat" into a "help".
