Hi, I to got down to my goal weight and couldnt keep it there and sprung up 15 pounds within 6 months. Seems like it came on in 5 pound increments. I am 5'6 ,53 years old ( 51 at time of surgery ) started out at 254 got down to 155 and now at 170 and holding. I would like to lose at least 10 of that regain because my summer clothes is a little snugger than last year and Im NOT buying a larger size. I know what I have to do, but dont always follow the basics. I workout 3 -5 days a week for 30 -45 min. I walk or treadmill and lift weights so I know some of it is muscle but my waisline is bigger than it should be. I have alot of excess skin (and fat ) that I would like to have taken off but cant really afford it plus Im really affraid to have it done. I know I would go down a pant size if I had it removed. Well good luck and remember your not alone, Deb

Hi, don't be so sad about this. You have done great and at 5'7'' 165lbs is pretty a  good weight to me. I am 55yo and had surgery two years ago and have gotten to 154lbs  from 269 and at 5'3" I don't think any more will come off and that's ok with me since I feel and look so much better than I have on over 30years. We  need to look at all the positives that have occured to us since our weight loss and concentrate on a healthy lifestyle and enjoying life.

Be proud!!!

I'm incredibly depressed over the weight regain that I have experienced. I fear that I will not develop the discipline to lose it and I keep getting bigger and bigger. Nothing from last summer fits. Over time I've gone from a size 14 to my current 18W. I have a number of significant stressors in my life, and feel pretty lonely much of the time. I feel hopeless, really, and fear the future will only worsen with time.

stress can cause that regain...and my suggestion would be to simply continue eating properly-as much as possible!- and your fluid intake- be sure to keep up on your vits etc and when the stresses start to relieve the weight should start to go back down...been there done that-have the t shirt! pm me if you would like to talk...(i do have to go to work soon this morning tho!) my hubby is from wisconsin....

I really HATE hight/weight charts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! With that said I do kinda like this one. It takes your AGE, as well as your hight and weight.  I'm 46, very short 4'10" so a NORNAL person could weight about 132 The NORMAL BMI charts say I should weight 118-90 LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm 46 there is NO WAY in H@!! that I will ever weight less than 115!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a large fram when I got to 114 BOTH my PCP and WLS doc said I was TO THIN!!!!!!!!!!! My body is like it where I am now I've been between 137-133 for about a year now and it seems like no matter what I do my body wants to be here.  OK I'm not a size 4 ............ BUT do I look like most of the middle aged women at PTO, my sons scout events, my daughters cheerleading competions. YOU BET!!!!!!!!!!!!  Do I feel like I FIT IN NOW and that people are not looking at me like I the big WHALE at the pool.  YEP!!!!!!!!!!!! SO I'm noe NORMAL according to the charts..... I'm normal for ME!!!!!!! LOVE WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE ACHIEVED!!!!!! OK rant over.  Robin

4'10" - 47 I'm short but not petite and I will weigh more than a 5th grader

Good for you!  I also realize that at 24 yrs old 165 would have been heavy, but now at 52--165 is normal weight.  In reality I look THINNER now at 165 than I did at age 24 at 130....go figure!

Anyway, Can you please send me the link to your WL chart?  Thanks

It sounds like you've done a fantastic job to me!!!! You are at a healthy weight and that's really what's most important, but if you REALLY want to get lower then hang in there and don't give up. Keep doing all the good things that got you to where you are now.  So, I guess I need to post my age, LOL!!! I turned 40 in March

I am 57, 5'2" and started this journey at 360 pounds.  I am down to 184 but fluctuate up/down 2 pounds and have stayed here for the last 3 months!  No matter what I do nothing changes and I have tried it all, except exercise which will come after Babette leaves . Some days I think I have failed my tool cause I am stuck but I follow the rules and journel.  Other days I think...dang I have lost an obese woman!  I have lost 1/2 of me.  Who would have believed it? So hang in there and keep up the good work!  You have done fantastic!

I'm no expert, but my understanding is that once we've been obese for some time, our organs enlarge and don't shrink after weight loss.  I've seen lots of before and after pics of people who have lost a bunch of weight, look great, but their weight is still higher than they look (i.e. They look 125, but they say they weigh 150).  So, maybe you are being too hard on yourself, or maybe you could lose a few more.
