Hello Everyone....

I hope everyone is enjoyed their Sunday!  Sunny and HOT HOT HOT here in NY!  I am typing to you with my central air on keeping me nice and COOL COOL COOL!  :)

I am one of those "LOSERS" that is always checking out before and after pictures and stats.  I am proud of what I have accomplished but disappointed wiith what I have not, especially when I see lots of you out there who started out with a heavy weight amount close to mine or even more and wind up 30 lbs give or take less than me.....I know body frame, exercise, diet all have a lot to do with it, but come on.....Why can't I be one of you?  I am not a bad person and I follow with drinking my water in fact, I am now drinking a total of 12-16 cups a day, watching what I eat as well as how much etc etc etc and here I am STUCK at 165.  I started Pre WLS at my highest of 285--after WLS went to my lowest of 150 but then wound up gaining back 20 pounds of it---I am proud to say I did lose 5 of those pounds just this week!  So, any of you big time losers want to shed some light to my WL Bewilderment??????  I WANNA SO BE ONE OF YOU.........................................................WAH WAH WAH!

I'm waiting for replies from your post. I am just like you. I love the fact that I've lost 150 lbs. But (there's always a but) I can't seem to get under 170. Like you , I drink my H2O, I go to the Y, I take my vitamins, for the most part I do what I'm suppose to do. So why do some get there & not others? What are we doing wrong. I feel like such a baby for whinning, because I know I am blessed. I have lost 150 lbs, I do have a healthier body now. I just wonder why. I'm only 5ft tall so 170 lbs is still to big. Do you know that I am even concidered obese. I've always hated that word, lol.  any way maybe we'll both get some insight from your post.

I ALSO hate the fact that when people post their height and weight why don't they also REVEAL their age for goodness sake!  I know that age plays another part to the WL Mystery.  When I see Before and After Pictures I also like to know people's age because believe it or not this gives me a boost of support to see people who are similar in age to me along with they have accomplished with this life changing surgery!

Its not a matter of not lucky..its a matter of science... I can say that for a fact I got to goal due to tracking my food everday and weighing three times a week. Radical?  Mabye but I know that denial is not good for me... the min. I see an up in the scale the next day I crack down and up my prots... You never said how tall you are.... age...etc....  Id bet if you tracked for two weeks that scale would start going down again. These are just my thoughts .... You can do it... I have faith in you !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Linda

LOL I just posted my age but was coming back to post that I am 5"7.  I too weigh myself EVERYDAY.  To some this is not good but to me it continually keeps me in check.  I know that if I see a weight gain of a few pounds today and had Chinese for dinner the night before that with my water intake the weight should be off by the next day, but I make sure I adjust my food intake that day to see that decrease happen.

Numbers numbers numbers...Why does it always come down to numbers? If you exercise and have more muscle you're going to weigh more and that NUMBER on the scale will be higher..period. No science at all involved. But if you get down to your lowest weight and you like that number, be aware that if you exercise and build muscle that number on the scale will climb. On the RNY board, Terry R and I are absolute twins. Same height, same clothing size BUT...she weighs 165 pounds and I weigh 122..Difference is, she's a body builder; gym junky and I walk and swim..She doesn't get upset when she sees that she outweighs me by 40 pounds cuz she could essentially kick my ass. LOL.  Each and every one of us is different and some will exercise and love it and gain a higher number on that scale. Some will truly put on fat because they eat wrong and don't exercise but for the most part each of us has our own burden to bare...
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Hi!  Thought I would throw in my two cents worth since you and I seem to be similar in start weight and current weight.  I am 5' 3" tall, 46 years old (almost 44 at time of surgery), start weight was 285, current weight is 165 and lowest weight was 153, but that was after a VERY stressful period of time in my family.  I fluctuate from 163 to 169 and can't figure out how I can get down any further either. I remember before surgery, I swore I would be thrilled just to be under 200 pounds!  So, I'm happy and content where I am.

See this is alot of our problems.  We never think we are good enough. YOU ARE ONE OF US!!!!!  YOU DID GREAT!!!!!  You orginally lost 135 pounds.  WOW that is alot of S***!!!!! Then you did the normal regain.  As long as it doesn't go up any more you are great.  You should be so proud of yourself.  Really great job. Hold your head up high - look in the mirror and say I am a winner.  I am a big time loser.  Because you are!!!!!!!!!!!! Koukla
