Tummy Bug...Icky Alternative to 5 Day Pouch Test!
I've been considering going on the 5 day PT, since I have been in a love/hate relationship with the carb monster lately and gained about 10#. I finally "found" the time since I'm off work for the summer(work for a public school). I am on Day 1 and I don't feel right....must be just detoxing the carbs....that evening, I rent bathroom space....by morning of Day 2, I've figured out it's not detoxing that's the problem. I've caught some kind of bug....how does this happen when I'm not at school, being exposed to every snot and ick around? I dunno...Before I hit Day 3 of the abandoned Pouch Test, I'm at the ER for severe dehydration. Ever since this surgery, if I get sick, I need help getting rehydrated. Day 4 and 5, it's nothin' bu****er and phenegran gel for me..woohoo!! I have since recovered, and back on solids. I'm being VERY careful with what I eat, no refined carbs, and the scale reads a 5# loss! Some would claim it's los****er weight, but 3 bags of I.V. fluid rehydrated me and I've been able to keep down 80-100 oz daily since. I would not recommend this alternative to anyone, but at least I've stepped away from the carbs again!
