Yep the protein is right!! I guess that is a little low....compared to what the others are getting in. Is that why it scares you? Let me know what you think. I don't know how you all get in as much as 100g. protein and keep the cals low. Help???? Also I must say I HATE WATER!!!!! I must get a mind change on this. Even tho I lost 210lbs after surgery I didn't drink water like I should. Any ideas on changing my self talk?Dancin'D

The porkchop was good but alittle high in fat. Salad was good (no cals but no protein) carb rich was the chalupa, chips, DQ, crackers..So those things add more calories and hardly any protein.
the almonds were good because it's good fat and well worth the calories..
meat is the best to add protein. beef and fish or chicken. Put tuna on the salad or shrimp..Skip the guacomole and add a scoop of cottage cheese or some shredded cheddar..No ice cream but maybe a container of yogurt (low fat, low sugar like Dannon Fit and Lite) I try and get protein first and skip the bread and pasta section as much as possible. Even beef jerky is a good choice for a salty snack.
I have to make myself drink water before my meals but it's a habit that I've gotten into. I also found that the one time I can count on to get a whole 24 oz container of crystal ligh****er in is while I'm driving. My commute is about 45 minutes with me alone in my car. So I can't get away from tha****er bottle. Some people can't drive without a cigarette, I can't drive without something to drink and that is how I get two containers of water in at least a day...Then I drink before I'll eat to make sure I'm actually hungry and not thirsty. Build a habit...And there are so many flavored water packets out there now..Even ones with protein in them and fiber...
It takes some practice and a mind change but it can get done.
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

It's basically what I've been hearing from all the nutritionist people on this site and at my support group...And my opinion, for what it's worth. No expert here.
Do you dance much?

I took tap, jazz & ballet in childhood. Taught for awhile. Then in my early 30's I was a professional, international & latin ballroom dancer. I have always loved dance. When I am super obese, I couldn't dance.
Now I'm in my 50's and though I still love it, do very little. Basically I am a very "sports" person...love it all...skiing, softball, umpiring, cheerleading, drill team etc. Thanks for asking.

I was going to say that if you go dancing alot...that's good exercise. My grandmother used to go dancing twice a week (Friday and Saturday) the woman was not ever fat...Me? I couldn't find anyone to take me dancing and too shy to go by myself...

I never dump.. so I never look at the sugar grams versus the total carbs. Guess I'm just lucky that way.
*yawn*
'Nuff said.
1/2c fage w/ 1c fresh strawberries
1 salmon fillet
protein shake
1c oikos
1 container Harris Teeter deli veggie beef soup (OMG, this is to die for)
protein shake
1060 cals 26.19g fat 66.17g carbs 141.43g protein 11.25g fiber
30 min hard core elliptical (upped a level, did some backwards which I'm feeling today)
20 min upper body weight machines
Scares me to death that I could eat that much and only get queazy and not actually barf...Need more work on that. Now that I know I might be able to get away with eating sugar I have to really stay away from it. Your totals are AMAZING! nice low cals, really high protein! Good work..

Yeah, wait til tomorrow.
I've really been pushing myself hard at the gym, and for the past 3 days, have gotten completely exhausted and fallen asleep during "napnap time". Of course, it could be the whole "getting up at least 1x per night" thing.. but I'm going to push my protein way high today to see if that helps me recover some of my stamina.
You might also check your B-12 and your iron...I know in the morning before I even have coffee I pop that B-12 under my tongue because, actually...It's better than coffee.
I eat tomato with my beef cuz that will up the iron you absorb 4 times. I had to learn that stuff cuz oral iron just doesn't agree with me. During my pregnancies I needed the extra iron but couldn't take it in vitamin form...I had to find out about tomatoes and beef. I craved hamburgers with nothing but two slices of tomato..And the first pregnancy I craved thin sliced fried (like bacon) beef liver (gag!). All iron rich foods.
