Anita's SF Mojito
This is an alcoholic drink...so please be responsible...
Limes
Rum
Fresca (or other sugar free grapefruit soda)
Mint leaves
Mango juice
Fill glass with ice and pour into blender...
Add a shot or your fav amount of rum
Blend til smooth.
In glass put several mint leaves and lime slices.
Mash limes and leaves to "muddle" or release the flavor in the mint leaves and limes.
Add rum and ice mix to glass. Fill glass with fresca and top with a splash of mango juice...
Put mint leaf bud on top of glass and serve with a straw.
You can make this non or barely alcoholic too for a great flavor without rum...or very little...Too much will definitely knock you off your feet!!!!
(Variation for mango juice...if you have some sf DaVanci raspberry syrup or other brand...that would taste awesome too)
I don't drink much at all either...But I love a nice glass of wine on the weekends sometimes before dinner...In the summer we have mixed drinks with company and this is great because it can be non alcoholic or a very little if you just want a refreshing drink....With rum it's only 64 calories and 6 carbs...
With only mango and no rum at all it's only 27 calories and 6 carbs...Plus the mint is realy nice on the belly! You can actually make it zero calories and carbs if you use SF davinci syrups like the raspberry. I just love the mango juice...Gives it a nice tropical feeling
Enjoy...it's a perfect beach drink
ooo.,..I have a ruby red grapefruit SF drink that I have made by Morning Spark. It has caffeine in it...I bet that would work for this instead of the carbonated drink...Still feel weird about carbonation.
I have a barbeque at my sister's place on the 7th (next Saturday) and I want something that I can have there. She is a big time drinker..Bet she has mango juice or I can bring some...I know she has rum and I can bring my grapefruit drink....mmm. Think I'm set for getting crocked. Hubby will pour me into the car when I've had too much and I'll be "nicely toasted"...
Yes, RNY worked for me but it also requires a lot of work from me!

Yep...I bet that would work...Here's a little thing about the carbonation...Once you add the soda to the ice and limes (even without the rum) it loses a lot of the carbonation....but it does still have a little...I don't drink carbonated drinks anymore either...but this one has just a little fizzle with no burp! LOL
Where are you putting the fresca????

YUmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! I tried this without the rum (I can't handle alcohol, such a light weight now...ugh!)... But anyway I tried it without the rum and it's yummy!! I go dancing a couple times a month and will have to tell the bartender how to make this...
Thanks for the recipe!
