Pill digestion

Hi there, I'm not really sure how this question needs to be posted but I'm going to ask it the best I can. I had my gastric bypass in november of 06. When talking medication like controled release and extended release does that apply to us also. I know that our food and things digest so much faster than the normal person. If anyone has any info on this it would be greatly appreciated.  Amanda

Extended release (XR) meds are typically not recommended for RNY patients, as they don't seem to work correctly.  I use a liquid vitamin due to the digestion changes, as pills normally take an hour or two to fully digest, due to less stomach acid. One ounce of a liquid and my vitamins for the day are done, as noted on my profile page. DAVE
